Shill me Receiver 2

I'm on the fence about buying Receiver 2. I thought the first one was pretty fun, though I never really bothered trying to find tapes. For those of you who've bought the new one, I have two questions:
1: Did they make the enemy variety any better?
2: Did they make the maps any better? I got pretty tired of trying to awkwardly hop up some pipes in a green hallway, and then clearing out the same apartment over and over.

C'mon, nothing? Not even a shitpost? Don't make me blindly purchase this, give me a reason to hate it!

Hot damn, I figured it was recent and indie, there'd at least be a developer tweet about some hot issue, but is there really nothing?
Nobody gives a single shit?

I haven't played 1 but from what I've heard the enemy variety is about the same (turrets and drones), but there's apparently more guns, more tapes and more rooms (although you still basically see it all after 2 hours)

Fuck drones I'm stuck at level 1

Dang, more rooms is a good sign. Can you comment on the lighting at all? I remember it was too dark in 1, and then the flashlight made everything too bright.

1. No
2. Yes
3. It is a textbook sequel basically, better gameplay, QoL changes, more levels, expanded lore, expanded guns and so on. You should buy it if you liked the first one tbqhfamalamdingdong

You definitely needs the flashlight sometimes when there's no lightsources, otherwise you're just asking for a turret to ambush you. But most rooms have switches you can use to turn on the light.

Cool, I might fire it up. All the Steam reviews just bitched about getting penalized for dying, so I couldn't figure out if the rest of the game was better.
Dang, maybe I'll just raise the brightness or something.
Do you guys think they'll ever put in more guns, or is this just a one off thing again?

its fun. more fun when you replace the tape audio files.

>It's a comfy gun history tape

Is it still just a guy mumble-whispering in my ears about generically named concepts? The tapes were easily the weakest part of 1 to me.
Oh shit you may have sold me.

>It's a maintain your focus tapAAARRRRGGGGHGHHHHRRHRGH
Well done.

1) a little. Only new enemies are ceiling turret and camera. Also several types of usual turret.
2) in first one map was always the same iirc. In second map constructed randomly from prebuilt fragments. Most of them are defined versions of fragments from 1, but also with several new ones

How quickly did you feel like you'd seen each of the actually designed cells too often? I got really sick of the big stair rooms and apartments in 1.

The tapes are more focused, and there is lore notes from other receivers you can find.
Enemy variety is pretty much the same sadly, but they say they'll update the came for a while and aren't against more guns/enemies. Hopefully they add some more pursuing enemies instead of playing the "sit around corner until turret looks away" game.
My biggest gripes are that you blink after each shot, and later levels have barely any ammo, but apparently you can tweak ammo drops

They're messing with my visibility even harder? I'm kinda afraid they're going to add too much tediousness, even though that's kinda what the game's sold on.
I wonder what kinda gun they'd add though. There can't be that many distinct handguns left, right?

i never realized so many people played receiver 1
did we all get it free with oour purchase of overgrowth?

>It's a suicide tape
>Herewegoagain
>Eject magazine
>Eject chamber round
>Still gets shot in the head

Did I get fucking outplayed ?

I got Lugaru in one of the really early humble bundles and played through it. All I remember is the wolves being absolute dicks.
I payed for Receiver though, the concept of shooting robots in parts with different functions was too cool.

I would say in 8-10 hr, but there is a rank system, and with every new rank game become harder(more enemies, less bullets, more enemies variety ), and on 4th and 5th rank game become a wild ride where you only think about how not to become dead meat, so i think you can play 15-20 hr easily without getting tired

Want me to shill the game? Alright. If you liked the original, you'll like this one as well.
1. There are several turret variants, still drones, and a new type of enemy which isn't too impressive, but it provides a slightly different gameplay approach.
2. The game still features a set amount of tiles generating in a line like in R1, but the tiles are more detailed and they have a few variants, allowing or disallowing traversal between floors, and there are blocked doors creating a maze-like structure at times. The tiles are also based on the R1 tiles, so if you played a bunch, you'd recognize the rooms, but now with 1000% more soul. You'll still come across the same tiles over and over, albeit the variants.
This game is quite nice, and Wolfire will continue development for several more months to fix bugs and add content that they couldn't implement due to time and budget constraints. You could wait until they fix stuff to play what will be a superior version of the game, but you could also get the game now and try to power through the game to reach the non-existing end.

Also was a playtester. AMA.

What's the Threat ?

its exactly like first game, but better.
What else do you want to know?

Cool, that sounds like a solid amount of time.
Are you just one of the developers in disguise?
Would you call it a full sequel? I'm not really tryna spend 18 bucks on Receiver 1.3, you know?

narrator is worse

>Shill me /cum/ Receiver 2
you do it, lazy fuck

>expanded lore
Big red flag there

I disagree
He sounds a lot more coherent and less monotone compared to Receiver 1. Guy from the first game sucked to listen to.

new guy is too melodramatic
monotone is kino for reciever

I already mentioned the Steam reviews were largely useless, and the website is just "Bro it's got more taaapes". I'm asking for opinions for people who've played the video game, on a video game board. The only one receiving seed is you, leatherman.

Just pirate it you idiot

>1: Did they make the enemy variety any better?
Nah. Some some turret/bot variants, but that's still basically it.
>2: Did they make the maps any better?
I like R2's maps infinitely more, but they are so much more complicated that they force you to slow the fuck down. No more just dashing around.
No more "just run rings around turrets lmao" they will fuck you. Which was my go-to when running out of ammo in R1, a shame.

There's a fair few more weapons and weapon nerfs, so you get a nice mix between hard-hitting guns that are wonky and soft-dick guns that you can use reliably, compared to R1's two good guns and one heavily shit one.

I like it, more than the original. Tape-collecting and plot is still worthless, there's an equally worthless rank system you just ignore and play, not like the ending matters. Just pirate it if you're not sure, s'what I did.

Haha, yeah, sorry I asked about a video game. Didn't mean to distract from your other topics.

You ended up buying it though? I kinda try not to pirate really new stuff, though I doubt this was big enough to garner much attention.

> shill me
I’m saying the game is trash and you should pirate it
You’re better off with a modded receiver 1
