2 really was the best, both in terms of action and the more low-key moments. 3 was just a poor man's 2 and lacked the soul, while 4 looked great but took itself a little too seriously

3's problem is that it ends out of nowhere, the game was clearly rushed. Something really strange was going on with Sony's exclusives and their third entries on the PS3. Same thing happened with Killzone 3 and Resistance 3, rushed ending that drags the whole game down.

I played uncharted 2 and i don't remember a single piece. I still remember every final fantasy, Zelda, Mario, metal gear, whatever the fuck else music. Sorry, but uncharted 2 had shit music.

Yeah the desert stuff was fun, but in general the story was too disjointed to have any of the relative weight of 2. The devs straight-up admitted that they wrote 3's story around the set-pieces, which explains why you have stuff like the completely pointless ship section

I agree but to be fair, these games all follow the same basic narrative formula

>Drake and allies trying to find lost city
>Come into conflict with villain from past and their army
>Initialy ahead of villain
>Something happens half way through story which places villain and drake on equal footing
>Discover lost city
>Villain also arrives in lost city
>Something occurs which holds Drake back or immobilises him
>He manages to overcome this obstacle
>He eventually defeats villain and army
>City destroyed
>Happily ever after

Even the lost legacy followed this exact same formula with different protagonists
