It's been saved for years now
Check Clone Hero
this would make a good vr game
>What happened?
Neversoft took over Guitar Hero and Harmonix went on to do their own thing. But Neversoft still wanted a piece of the pie and then they ended up shitting out game after game to compete with each other. Then the market got oversaturated and people stopped giving a shit.
>Can the series be saved?
Probably not.
>what happened
13 games in 1 year
>can the series be saved
no
>Guitar hero is dead
>Rock Band 4 has less features than RB1, not to mention the set list is fucking terrible
I'd rather have GH come back, but at least all of my DLC songs from RB1-3 are playable on 4.
>13 games in 1 year
wait, what?
What other songs could they use that normies would care about? They've exhausted all the dadcore and had to reach into non-rock genres.
They dug too greedily and too deep
Was this good?
nah, let it die. I remember lots of parties drunk/drugged out of my mind in my shitty apartment playing this in the 00s with friends and neighbors. fun, but not relevant today. I think some VR devs have a similar premise, that seems to be the real way forward.
yes, the second one was better.
1st was good, second was even better, the song mixes are very well made and blends into the gameplay so seemlessly, probably the biggest surprise in quality when I thought it was going to be hot garbage.
some people praise it as the best hero, other hate it.
i dont know i never played it.
btw is there a way to play drums in clone hero?
>13 games in 1 year
elaborate, what year?
not really, but that soundtrack was dope.
I Heard It Through The Grapevine/Feel Good Inc remix still pops into my brain sometimes.
it's a beta build right now I think but yes you can play drums in clone hero
>You tell me that you've heard every sound there is
>And your bird can swing
>But you can't hear me!
>You can't hear... meeeeeeeeeeee!
My rich asian friend broke four sets
Are you literally me? That's exactly how I felt about the DJ Hero series. Was expecting the first one to be total garbage, ended up buying it on sale at Toys R Us and ended up being presently surprised how good the mixes were. The second game kicked everything up to 11 and I'm glad they kinda focused on the EDM side of things.
absolutely
>Can the series be saved?
BRING BACK THE GH LIVE SERVERS REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
In 2009 there were nine games released.
>Guitar Hero 5
>Guitar Hero Metallica
>Guitar Hero Van Halen
>Guitar Hero Smash Hits
>Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits
>Guitar Hero 5 Mobile
>Guitar Hero Arcade
>Band Hero
>DJ Hero
Perhaps it's unsurprising they cancelled the series late the next year.
I hope so, 2005 -2009 were really comfy years.
I didnt have many friends growing up, and I always imagined how fun it would be for me and 2 other people to play our favorite songs.
Apart of me wants to capture what I was never able to have.
I think we just got....old
I can't picture anyone above 18 playing a plastic guitar
I think it needed like a console generation or 2 to give it breathing space. If they came out with just one game and stuck with it being a bit of a service, it’d be golden
It should be rock band I think. They just gotta steak the idea of gh live. I’m sure they could have monetized that in a great way and make some neat events and feel eases with it
Rock Band VR is a thing but Harmonix fucked it up, and Beat Saber's already cornered whatever playerbase they could've had.
this game was pretty fun, i actually liked the 6 button gameplay but the controller sucked
It was cute but going super casual wasn’t the answer. They could have survived a bit longer if they did like 10 buttons. Could have helped them reuse the previously released songs too
best song

If there was any game that NEEDS to be "games as a service". it's fucking this. No need for all the bullshit $60 releases, just make one base game with instruments and sell the song packs and KEEP IT UPDATED
This might be interesting: youtube.com
keeping an eye on this, but with zero tactile feedback i have doubts this will be fun to play for more than a couple hours
zoomers are not interested in music anymore
Imagine not thinking 3 is the best one, the final battle against lou is the most kino moment in vidya
