The game should have launched with this. The updates were shitty because they were nothing but things the game already should have had when they asked for $60 (Multiplayer, World Maker, more power ups and enemies)

Nintendo doesnt need to try anymore and half the first party titles feel unfinished at launch. See: Animal Crossing. Great game, but they still need to add shit because it got rushed.

It's probably because it wasn't the runaway hit they were expecting. The novelty of the first game had already worn off when they released 2.

I dont understand how SMM2 wasnt just SMM1 but better and with more shit. Why remove stuff? Why remove costumes? Why remove anything!? People were really exited for this game and everyone felt a little dissapointed. This game probably would have turned out better if it was SMM1 deluxe
