Emulation Or Original Hardware?

Steam with mods. No debate.
Emulation when it's as good as the original, otherwise original hardware.
It doesn't make a difference.
Original hardware is usually less convenient though so that is a negative which makes emulation or whatever is available on newer platforms / steam the better option.
too many of these old JRPGs have bs encounters that make you lose tons of progress if you didn't find a save point in time.
So I'd go for emulation with save state options
Emulating New Threat mod, because the vanilla game is beyond boring.
Hardware if its an option, emulation otherwise.
The only downside with emulation is someone playing for the first time is liable to be lied to and told they need to install X filters and Y mods to enjoy the game.
This.
Vanilla is still fun but this
Original hardware
If you you only have a PC, you can only play vanilla, mods are for retarded faggots who don't care about soul in games.
>implying I'd go to the effort of doing all that shit when I just want to experience the game as the devs intended
Yeah, no. It always turns out to be a waste of time and effort that amounts to nothing but a few cosmetic changes and nothing else. Maybe if I like the game enough to play through it again, I'll consider modding, but first time playthroughs? The fuck out of here with that.
Yes, thank you for agreeing with the post, user.
Emulation can't fully reproduce the look of the original but it's the next best thing. The ports fucked up the models and aren't recommended by me unless you're interested in mods.
All in a day's post.
Even BSNES with runahead and shit feels different from the actual thing to me. But realistically, emulation is all we've got in most cases.
keep up the good posts.
Yes, but what about emulation on a crt?
emulating ps1 on mednafen is the tits, there's no reason to go out of your way to get the original console
emulation, but that screenshot really gives me those good time tingles
Unless you're a speedrunner it doesn't matter.
People who care are giga-autists.
this too
What's with the hate for the Remako mod?
wat dis
Why should i join this.
I just use the base beetle core in retroarch with a crt shader to produce results like those. The classic look without a bunch of makeup works best for me
Is there a way to play the enhaned port on vita ?
i just looked in there and it's absolutely disgusting, just a bunch of anons posting porn and being gross on mic. people have been posting cringy discord groups all today no matter what board you're on because it's 420
Emulation always because I require a speedhack for most old games to be playable.
This, desu.
Something that people never mention is how rapidly a person's perception will adapt to a game's interface. In other words, even if the graphics are SHIT and you feel like you can't play a game because of it-- you WILL adapt to the interface if you feel compelled enough to do so.
>t. guy who almost didn't beat vanilla FFXII because it looked like utter shit at first
>speedhacks
Gross, is it just to get in more game time at a higher clock speed or hardware slowdown compensation?
ps1 classic
Emulation, then emulation with mods.
>ps1 classic
Man, what the fuck was up with that?
That should've been such a slam dunk with the PlayStation's library but Sony still managed to fuck everything up.
Imagine releasing a collection of games and half of them are in PAL format.
Jesus Christ.
i bought one and enjoyed it a lot
