It's called sacrifice. If you want mountains to climb and a dynamic timber economy you have to cut corners somewhere else.

steel weapons are boring, you dont need 8 or whatever the fuck amount morrowind has in an action rpg when they are tons of other weapons in skyrim that just arent steel.

Sorry you can't roleplay as john henry irons you fucking nigger

besides skyrim has way better combat, you can do sweet kill animations but you want more steel weapons?

I bet you want certain skills back from morrowind too, sorry theyre boring fetcher

It has nothing to do with console limitations. Not even engine limitations, as shit as that engine is. They're just bad developers.

Morrowind was on console, retard

>1 weapon = 1 content

skyrim doesn't have bows and crossbows?

technically not any steel ones

>blocks

I fucking HAAAATEEEE WHEN GAMES DO THIS

LOOKING AT YOU HALF LIFE YOU CUNTS

There's 8 other types of weapons, not including the variety of unique weapons.

on the most powerful console that was basically a PC, only just barely
oblivion and skyrim were more explicitly designed around those limitations

Maybe one day Bethesda will give a damn about their games. hopefully the mods will be plentiful and lewd

What is it you're seeing?

>generic fantasy trash
>thematically appropriate weapons that the dev team actually had time to work on
I dunno, user, which one do you think was more successful?

crossbows were added in an expansion. The true stupidity is not including Spears whatsoever

This isn't a defense of Bethesda's reasoning for polearms, just an explanation. That is, why are there no polearms in Oblivion and onward? Well, prior to Oblivion, the hit calculations were done as dice rolls, rather than as collision tests between meshes. As they were testing polearms, they found that either they were awkward and unwieldly in the way that they could be used, that the animations were inappropriate for the third-person camera (not in the censors kind of way, but really ruined things - and this is Oblivion we're talking about, so it had to have been awful), or caused a lot of issues in combat in general. So, the removal of polearms was done and that also allowed them to further streamline the skills system.

im seeing a great game where they just fucking REMOVE FUN WEAPONS FOR NO REASON
THEY WERE EVEN OPTIONAL IN THE FIRST ONE + EXPANSIONS NO REASON FUCK YOU

to be honest I don't even know which side you're talking about here

There are reasons and also calm down, Jesus Christ. All caps is never acceptable.

fuck you

i love using oversized warhammers instead of flimsy little dental tools

I've never understood why Americans see drinking a 40 as a big deal.

YOU CANT USE THAT, NWAH!

>extra pepperoni
>thick crust left with extra oven time
Your pizza wasn't made by patel? Sanjay and his crew invaded and took over my local domino's and now they only make shit with their smelly hands. 8 months and they still don't know how to make a good pizza.

>a big deal
we dont?
a 40 is usually looked on as a trashy size to drink

Here is your more weapons mod bro :^)

Ah yes I'm sorry I forgot how Skyrim looked EXACTLY like Morrowind. They had the same texture and poly amounts and everything, right?

Fucking moron.

how the fuck do you used that spiked chain, it looks like a double ended flail

also FUCK YOU newfaggot caps lock is cruise control for cool

Attached: my opinion is valid.jpg (1024x955, 216.52K)

what's the point if the combat is the same anyways no matter what type of weapon you use though?
what's the difference between staff and spear gameplay?
what about greatsword, greataxe and greathammer?
stop shilling morroshit, not that I'm claiming skyrim is doing a good job at this or anything, I'm just pointing out that making simple, shitty modelswaps are retarded and were only excused due to the lack of tech we had back then and they would look fucking horrible nowadays, yes, even more shittier than skyrim's

>inb4 HUHHHHH SKYRIM COULD HAVE HAD MEANINGFUL COMBAT AND MORE ANIMATIONS FOR A DOZEN MORE WEAPON TYPES AND STUFF HUHHHH
okay well skyrim's budget was three times as high as morrowind's, how much higher should it have been to please your autistic ass?

here are my thoughts on it; this is all pointless because flatscreen/mkb/gamepad first person gameplay could never ever reach the depth necessary to make such differences in melee combat enjoyable and meaningful
and it's EVEN more pointless seeing as both these games have had the model tools to allow you, yes, even you OP, to swap those models and add some shitty spear or halberd to replace some greatsword and your gameplay will literally be the same

if they give us TES6 with VR then maybe I'll be on your side about them not giving us spears and halberds because THEN the difference will be meaningful

>sling
>meh
how dare you.
