hopefully. I mean 2 JRPG threads a day should be fair if FFVII:R gets 12 a day right?

what's everyone playing right now?

Persona 5 Royal, 86 hours in and about to clear Mementos depths

I've been loving these threads. ACTUAL discussion about video games. Every single post.

Golden Sun 1. If the user who recommended me it is in here - I just officially started "the quest" and NOW the game has started. I'm excited for the adventure. I also LOVE, freaking LOVE how when you buy an item from the shop that is better than what you had on, the merchant INSTANTLY during that transaction offers to buy your lesser gear. Huge, huge quality of life thing. I am not a fan of obnoxious inventory management.

Picked up a Kemco shovelware game that was on sale on Steam for about $1.50. I think it was called Antiquia Lost? Anyway, definitely not the best game, but it's kinda funny how INCREDIBLY OBVIOUS it is that this thing used to have microtransactions that have been excised and switched to different kinds of in-game currency that pretty much wrecked any semblance of difficulty the thing might have had at some point.

That and I think one of the writers might have had either a slime girl or vore fetish. Possibly both. You've got two slime girls on your team, and one of them likes to get to know people by completely enveloping them to try and discern their personality from their taste.

Currently replaying TWEWY with an explosion pin deck. I love how much customization the game offers you with the various pins you collect throughout the game. After that, gonna finish up Radiant Historia and continue my shield run for KH1.

I want an Atelier game without time limits, frilly dresses and anorexic girls
Anything like that besides Ryza?

can someone recommend me a jrpg that's not grind heavy or extremely long? I've played a lot of SMT games but have yet to play FF or other games you might call essential

Either or. DS version has extra content but it’s pretty damn repetitive.

They fixed the Steam version right?

Just got done with WoFF and am just waiting for Trials of mana to come out and after I finish that gonna play DQ11

how

Just because problematic serial masculine heteronormative oppression doesn't come in a White European package doesn't mean it's good. You will never get to have sex, with your anime pillows or with any of us, as long as you continue to support the problematic Japanese video game culture.

Trying way too hard, man.

Waiting for a bunch of games to come out, playing indies in the meantime. Looking forward to Xenoblade on Switch (never played the original) and then Nier on PS4 whenever that finally comes out (it's probably gonna be a while huh).

any game with cs like kingdom hearts or similar?

Lost Sanctum. The content itself is actually pretty easy but you have to climb up it five fucking times and encounters are almost all unavoidable, plus there are no convenient shortcuts down the mountain, so you have to fight those same battles again on your way back multiple times. And in a game with pacing as great as Chrono Trigger’s, that shit goes old fast.

Is LEGO Star Wars a good one?

no idea, I heard that they ported it from mobile

Worth pointing out that Lost Sanctum is fanservice for people who have played the original and Cross, and can be skipped. Highly recommend the SNES version, btw, the DS version just adds some padding bullshit and fancy anime cutscenes. The SNES translation also has "more soul" or so people like to proclaim.

Anyway, if you haven't played it, you've gotta. Even people who don't usually like JRPGs swear by this game.

>IP didn’t even go up

I really need to replay TWEWY. All the talk about it recently in various threads gives me that itch. I just know I'm gonna have to 100% it again though.

I want to suck on mommy's toes.

what is the comfiest jrpg you have played?

Any thoughts on Iris? I was just searching through my old games and played it for an hour. I remember not hating it and liking the magic shop girl.

TWEWY is still one of the best things to come out of post-merger Squeenix even after all of this time. Game’s amazing.
Go for it. It’s aged pretty damn well.

Grandia is the definition of the word

I only played Ayesha and the amount of stuff you have to keep track of to NOT fuck up if you don't want a lame ending or no cash or missing a ton of stuff is staggering. It's actually stressful as fuck and I didn't finish it yet due to that
Meanwhile normalfag Yas Forums think it's a braindead game in corridors. I almost wish it was yeah

Maybe not this particular user, but I really appreciate you giving it a whirl. There's a shitton of QoL stuff in the sequels as well, but y'know, progress

Trails in the sky

I've only played Totori, and while it did take a few tries to break into it, once I started seriously giving it my attention I couldn't tear myself away. I think it's the only time I've seriously enjoyed crafting in a game. Being able to customize stuff with effects based on ingredients is awesome.
