The first Final Fantasy game i played

X-2 made Rikku and Yuna slutty as fuck and it was great. The endings were fucking bullshit though

I remember back when Final Fantasy X-2 came out. My local game store got a delivery of them for PS2 a few days before release. The staff were getting ready to stack the shelves and I asked if I could have a copy early. They said yes and it was awesome.
You couldn't get away with stuff like that now. What with online transaction monitoring and youtube spoilers, it just wouldn't happen.
I hate how much like a boomer it makes me sound but goddamn it really was a different time.

It was a damn good asset flip and improved greatly on the combat and rpg aspects of X and I'm not even opposed to the all female cast, but god damn was the story awful.

the music in ffx2 was actually pretty good, but real emotion was awful come on.

Paine was basically proto-Lightning. Somewhat similar personality, with a military background, and used a long sword. Toriyama directed both X-2 and the XIII trilogy.

Except that Paine had a backstory, character development and a resolution arc interlaced with well-written dialogue and competent world interactions. In other words, the exact opposite of Lightning.

It was obvious she was just a younger copy of Lulu to fit into the group, so of course nobody really remembers her.

Lightning had all of those things.
XIII's dialogue is at about the same quality as X-2's, as in pretty low.

The story could have been okay, I'm fine with the concept of shuyin.
Tidus would have a real zanarkand counterpart so it was a good idea, the execution wasn't the best though.
Having yuna accept tidus being gone for good and moving on with her life would've been better than bringing tidus back to life.
which is why I prefer this ending

but it isn't. The game is piss easy.. The people who like it are people whos first game was FFX and played x-2 and went "now THIS is a challenge"
