Why can't CDPR drones admit that a bright sky hurts the cyberpunk setting?

I really think that cdpr's cyberpunk just doesn't actually look like cyberpunk and that's the problem instead of focusing on the thematic weathering. Yes, cloud cover, nightfall, or perpetual rain help sell a cyberpunk scenario due to their oppressive nature, but a proper cyberpunk setting should be able to stand on bright sunny days as well.

The small town in Japan I stayed in looks more cyberpunk than this game

why can't you admit that you have autism

It doesn't inherently.
Using it poorly does, though.

Cyberpunk 2077 isn't cyberpunk fantasy, its just what america will be in 50 years.

>>but hey, that's just me.
*phew* It's just him, guys. Move along. Nothing to see here.

Hey lads, I just got a call from CD Project Red.

>bright sky hurts the cyberpunk setting?
It doesn't. Cyberpunk isn't a futuristic world with no sun.

Because the sun exists whether you like it or not. It's not just going to be nighttime all the time in an open world video game any more, that shit's over.

They are the owners of GoG, they don't have DRM.

Jak II made it work though

So why did nobody complain when Deus Ex Mankind Divided was set during the day in Prague (the least cyberpunk city ever)?

>The sun exists
>Therefore art can not resist its siren song
Then how does Castlevania exist?

Spider-Man has static skyboxes, why can't Cyberpunk?

A lack of sun is cyberpunk symbolism for no hope, no future, humanity has created its own hell. By ripping it out, you're psychologically painting the world as better than it actually is.

I just don't get why someone who clearly doesn't get cyberpunk even as a genre, nor do they know anything about it, would want to make a cyberpunk game. All the things they don't get, they outright change in spite of near unanimous protest. Now we have something that isn't anything other than the tepid vision of a clueless idiot, everyone hates it, and they still don't get it.

Also, post em

the main problem with the sun is, that the game is so ugly that it looks even worse during daylight.

You're delusional if you think that CP2077 won't have Denuvo.

>STOP FUCKING PUTTING IN DAY/NIGHT CYCLES INTO GAMES IT FUCKING RUINS IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTT!

If it didn't they wouldn't be able to release game on GoG, why wouldn't they release the game on their own platform?

>be anyone else
>"le sun exists though!"
>nope your retardation and make entire setting underneath a giant plate that blocks out the sun to preserve that key element of the genre

If it did*

It does. Days could've just been filled with smog.

And it also works thematically. Rich are all on the upper plate. Poor are in the slums.

Shame Upper Hengsha got cut.

can't wait for this game success

user, whatever the fuck you typed wasn't in English.

During day time it should be acid rains and dark most of the time. Maybe sunny day once in a month or so.
But instead it's sunny erry day and trannies and feminists. Just a way I like it.

1. that's dieselpunk
2. there was no sun in the original game. It's perpetual dark illuminated by electric signs and lightbulbs.
3. in the remake there's still technically no sun but they herped in artificial sunlight provided by shinra

I wonder how it will look after downgrade.

They've been pretty anti-DRM in promotion of it but it wouldn't surprise me if non-GOG versions have Denuvo.

pay more attention in class, Pablo.

Reminder that Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't call itself that because it's trying to relate to the genre cyberpunk, but because it's related to Cyberpunk 2020.

This looks more like District 9 type shit

>1. that's dieselpunk
That's not pertinent. It's an example of why that post is correct.
>2. there was no sun in the original game. It's perpetual dark illuminated by electric signs and lightbulbs.
Yeah. You even see that Midgar is perpetually dark on the world map. The characters mention that the lower levels are polluted as fuck. It's supposed to be dark all the time.
>3. in the remake there's still technically no sun but they herped in artificial sunlight provided by shinra
Not even that, you can clearly see the edges of the plate by moving the camera and the world has actual sunlight.

Darkness is more than just a simulation of reality, it's a tool for use in designing your game. Going for realism without consideration for your game's artistic vision while simultaneously trying to make an exaggerated, striking world is moronic.

Reminder that there has never been a successful big-budget cyberpunk project

Attached: 1548996541216.png (771x1387, 2.54M)

Cyberpunk without a perpetual "night time" is like a noir movie that isn't black and white, it's cutting out a very important and defining visual aspect.

Denuvo proofed that it can protect games from cracks on release, there is now only 1 hacker left who wants to crack denuvo: empress, and he is not new but the old Denuvohacker of CODEX (same crypto-adress). They simply have no reason to not use denuvo, after witcher 3 has been pirated so often.
And they make the rules for GoG.

They trademarked Cyberpunk so you're wrong

>Why can't CDPR drones admit that a bright sky hurts the cyberpunk setting?
I don't know. Why can't faggots like you just enjoy the damn game?

>nope your retardation and make entire setting underneath a giant plate that blocks out the sun to preserve that key element of the genre
Don't deflect, that's not English you retard.

In the setting of ff7 the slums were located underneath the plates of midgar. The vast majority of the slums' area was thus not exposed to sunlight.
There's plenty of other imaginative ways to prevent sun. Large amounts of fog/smog ala The Fifth Element. Weather ala Seattle. etc.

It would be suicide for them as a company to go with denuvo, one of the reasons why you got so many CDPR dick suckers is because of how pro consumer they are.

What part is confusing you, pablo? The part where your retardation gets "noped"?

Attached: 1536957193575.jpg (272x262, 16.71K)

Because no one played Mankind Divided.

You can do Noir in color. It's just hard to nail without monochrome being a better alternative.
Same for doing oppressive futures in the day.

yeah, it's just the father of the genre, no biggie.

>just enjoy the game lol
Sorry but not everyone is a mindless consoomer that buys everything corporations sell to him and call it brilliant everytime

>nope your retardation and make entire setting underneath
But has it ever really been so far as to even want what if do?

I heard most of their theme left after witcher 3 but i don't now about the management.

Play Ruiner.

Or it can just be dark out.

*team

But as in all cyberpunk heavy pollution means sun doesnt reach ground level anymore

>Refuse to use proper punctuation in a sentence that eschews normal grammatical rules.
>Call anyone who doesn't grasp your rambling a Spic.
Nah, you're a fag.

Attached: fatshib.jpg (500x505, 65.74K)

So you literally do not understand English... and you think it's the fault of anything but your own ignorance.

Stay in school, based ESLfag.

>Why can't CDPR drones admit that a bright sky hurts the cyberpunk setting?
because that would be an admission that the cyberpunk setting is nothing but shallow shit, which it is but then the bladerunner fans won't be able to pretend that they somehow have better taste than most people

Nope but the top one is still a Masterpiece Unlike TRANNYPUNK 2077

I did.

But it says masterpiece on steam.

Attached: Capture.png (320x130, 26.91K)

Gibson is not wrong and the thing is CDPR knows he's not wrong.

The whole "Cyber-GTA" vibe is 100% deliberate, you think normalfags want to play a fucking Cyberpunk game that actually feels genuinely dark and miserable? No, they want edgy, but the cool kind of edgy. They want "HIGHEST CRIME RATE IN AMERICA *BLAP* *BLAP* ITS A CITY OF DREAMS [Car Chase Intensifies] AND IM A BIG DREAMER"

"Nope" isn't a verb and you're missing a determiner between "make" and "entire".

You're just as bad as pablo, habib. If not worse. Go ahead and punctuate it though if you feel that a comma is missing somewhere.

>William fucking Bison himself doesn't think it's Cyberpunk
What happened to this?

Attached: 1586375450576.jpg (2880x1800, 579.08K)

yeah that sounds about right

you retards act like theres not going to be a pc mod that fixes climate/lighting in like 15 days after release

Attached: 1586347260008.jpg (540x668, 122.07K)

>literally who has an opinion

You're right, but they might have been pro-consumer because that was the right choice at the time. They couldn't prevent piracy, so they made the game as easily obtainible as possible. But times changed and after witcher 3 the management said in interviews that they want to substantially outperform witcher 3 in sales.

>Blade Runner
>Blade Runner 2049
>Altered Carbon
>not successful

Good shit, Paranecian Circle is a great hub song.

>Cyberpunk is "high tech low life"
That's meaningless. Cyberpunk is a futuristic city with lots of smog and neon and flying cars.
