what's that Final Fantasy 7 Remake for PC I see on all the torrent sites? Is that just a virus?
yup!
My brother tried to install Ghost of Tsushima once on PC from some obvious malware site. Shouldn't have to state the obvious but yes user, it's very much a virus
I'm not sure it's worth 13€. You could probably find original PS1 discs for cheaper. Also the Steam version comes with a weird Square Enix launcher thing that doesn't seem to serve any purpose.
Just emulate it. Any PC port of a console game that doesn't seek to improve on it in every way, or revive the game's online multiplayer, deserves such.
Examples: Tales of Symphonia, Sega Genesis Classics, FF1-9, Disgaea. [Though mouse control is neat, and they're surprisingly cheap]
Yeah, it's a solid classic JRPG. I played it for the first time January of this year.
it's the only final fantasy I've ever finished
Just do this

The PC version is basically the vanilla PS1 game but with its own issues
and a godmode switch if you want the game to play itself.
That's it. None of the features in the Switch version.
I think the game looks great with the supersampling method
and a simple crt shader that doesn't do much beyond some good quality scanlines.
Don't listen to it's perfectly safe.
Good thing it's a sequel and not a remake then
Retard the "remake" isnt really a remake so yeah play the original before you play the remake
I recommend playing it on Switch it’s the definitive experience to be able to play on the go
The original has the entire story whereas the remake is like 10% of the original story.
What do you think?
Can PS4 play PS1 games? Because I feel like the original is the best.
>We PC bros have to wait a year to pirate a piece of shit nomura fanfiction.
yeah who cares.
Get the original with chibi & remako mods. it's a much better game. it's actually crazy how much more charm and addictive factor it has. playing it for the first time", it's an old game yet there's so many part i get to and i'm like "wow that's awesome, that's so neat how they did that
It's a different story. I've just gotten to point after the fall of the plate and so much is different that it's no longer FF7. It's a retelling that's so different that they literally put in 4th wall breaking entities that tell you "I know how mad this is making anyone who played the original but I'm changing it anyways."
remake has like 1% of the story that actually resembles FF7. most of it is just completely stupid, off the rails garbage.
it has a lot of mods so yeah, you are ought to have the steam version
An even bigger reason to just go play the original then
>recommending Remako still when it's a dead project
Satsuki V4 is the same thing but actually updated
The only real annoying problem the PC version has is the misaligned world view with the black bar on the bottom of the screen outside of combat.
The AI upscales and shit are worth it and translation mods.
Only real gripe with the new version is that you're forced to make a square enix account and saves always try to sync with cloud saving for 10 seconds before giving up and doing a local file if you're not connected.
The 'restored' character mouths on the chibi models is a dubious choice since most characters outside of the playable ones are stuck with an 'o' shaped mouth, there's also a wrong musical track playing in one of the most dramatic parts of the story. But these last two points are just minor issues, it's a good port as far as it runs.
Is there a way to transfer your epsxe save files to retroarch? I've just found about retroarch and I don't wanna have to start all over again.
Do you want me to give you the patched launcher that skips the log in?
Don't buy the Steam version, emulate the OG PS1 release.
Its retarded because all the PC issues were fixed for the Switch/PS4
No weird mouths or messed up black bar, midis ost, ect
I see no reason the pc version couldn't have been updated to the more recent console versions
so vanilla ff7 or new threat mod? I played ff7 10 years ago
I just checked the upload dates and they're from 2012, 2014, and 2016, so I'm guessing they're the original game with some updated graphics.
Best and easiest experience for OG FF7? I'm thinking of buying it for the Switch
fucking ESLs
I already finished the game, thanks.
>midi OST
That's been fixed for the PC though. I also didn't notice a black bar in the world map but that could have been me.
Did they change any of the dialogue like the Retard line in the ports/PSN rereleases?
Should I just emulate the original or is there some sort of patch I can apply if I pirate the switch port?
Yes, it's great. The lego models are kinda ugly but you can try some mods to update them a bit. And if not, it's still definitely worth playing.
Gameplay wise it may be kinda annoying having to go through the victory pose + fanfare so many times + the items and gil screen, but other than that it's perfectly playable and recommended.
They mostly use the PC version's localization, has a couple of mistranslations here and there but is generally better than the SCEA one.
She says "This guy is sick.".
I honestly never get tired of the victory fanfare. to me i'll take it any time over the forced walking sections, long monotonous pre-scripted animations & crappy side quests of FF7R.
Yeah it's still good. One of the better JRPGs from that era because the actions in combat dont take forever. Battles in games like FF8 or Xenogears takes like twice longer, for the wrong reasons.
I enjoy it as well, but I'd completely understand if others got tired of it after going through half of the game.
Brought a smile to my face when I saw the victory animations in the Colosseum, I was kinda sad that they weren't there in the default battles.
So speaking of PC versions, why not use the old PC version instead of the Steam one? The 1998 version I mean. Does it also have problems like the Steam one?
Wait, the Steam one has issues?
