VR thread

I heard the community of this game is "toxic" or whatever. Can someone give me some insight? Also, VR thread: what are you playing?

Playing VirtualCast and relearning Blender, can't get my desktop to stream into Virtual Cast though. It chugs my CPU harder than a crackwhore handjob in a gas station bathroom.

>VirtualCast
Is that what all those v-tubers/streamers use?

>heard the community of this game is "toxic" or whatever
It's not but even if it was who cares you little bitch

Just wanted to know if it'd be a fun multiplayer experience or full of tryhards in a VR shooter.
I see there's a lot of workshop content but if the multiplayer is full of elitist faggots than I'd rather not bother with it.

>All that text
Lol shutup you gay faggot

Okay faggot, what games are you playing?

I think he means VirtualDesktop

Are you sure? It'd make sense if he was relearning blender for VCast to make an avatar or something for him to stream with.

Community seems kind of dead if you aren't playing TTT.

>TTT
Fuck that, I just want to shoot at people not play some mini-game. Would you still recommend getting this game for the workshop content?

If you plan to play CS:GO maps competitively on SnD mode, you're bound to run into the same people that played this game for years. They know every exploit and they know how to game the game's abhorrent netcode. Expect a lot of ghosting, pre-stacked lobbies, people leaving, barely any consequences for teamkilling, team-switching and whatever. Tryharding is a given.
The rest of the game is mostly populated with TTT/Jailbreak/Zombies - squeakers and general faggotry.
Pavlov is played not because it's so good, but because everything else is even worse.

>the community of this game is "toxic"
Our society is toxic, in case you haven't noticed.
>have the wrong opinions in public
>people will try to get you fired from your career and blacklisted from your industry
>because of wrong think
This is considered OK in our society. If you try to publicly tell people that this isn't OK, they will probably try to get you fired and blacklisted.

Yeah, probably. It's really neat to run around custom maps in VR. And while I say the community is mostly dead outside of TTT, I've still been able to get games going, it just doesn't feel like there's a lot of them.

>The rest of the game is mostly populated with TTT/Jailbreak/Zombies - squeakers and general faggotry.
Fuck, that sounds terrible. Is there at least something like FFA?
I guess "toxic" was the wrong word to use. I should've just asked how the community was.

No toxic works because you were saying baby want a swafe spwace

Toxic is definitely the right word to use, that's the exact same scenario as what happens in toxic games
>do the thing wrong or say the wrong thing
>the community shuns you utterly, and you receive mountains of abuse for a relatively minor infraction against their little rules

>Fuck, that sounds terrible. Is there at least something like FFA?
There's deathmatch/team deathmatch mode, but they're inferior to Contractors, because the dev doesn't think they're serious modes so doesn't balance them - you'll have enemies spawning behind your back and everyone running around with holo one shot M99 shitter cannons.
There's gun-game too but it forces a mapswitch everytime. Generally you avoid some of the issues hosting your own games (you can kick faggots that pre-stack), but lobbies often get bugged looking for a server. There's a dedicated server tab, but nobody uses it pretty much, outside of /vrg/ trannies and some jailbreak server. Generally Contractors seems like it will steal some spotlight from Pavlov as its getting modding after all this time.
Pavlov isn't bad, but the dev is an autistic manbaby and he's holding it down.

I've been playing Eviternity (DOOM II wad) in VR. It's very good.

>pre-stack
Sorry I'm dumb, what is pre-stacking, and would you recommend Contractors over Pavlov?
Is doing stuff like loading GZdoom into VR simple or does it take an extensive amount of work? I'd like to get into trying it out, as well as with that one game that lets you play Half-Life in VR

I've had mostly pleasant experiences in Pavlov, apart from the fact that every other game has a ten year old and everyone is always mic'd. In general communities in VR are better because they're smaller, and because communication is so integral to the experience.

gzdoom in VR is quite easy, I mean you basically handle it the same as flat gzdoom except it renders in VR. You just download a different version and nothing is really different, the only difference I can think of is that you can also load a file with 3D models for the weapons, since the regular DOOM weapons are sprites of course. I'd recommend doing that, it doesn't really matter for gameplay but it's nicer to have a 3D weapon in VR.

Sounds nice, I wasn't using pavlov specifically as an example of a "toxic" video game, just that the usual hallmarks of something being toxic like a video game or a fandom for a specific comic or anime or whatever, were pretty well mirrored in broader society just with a different set of things you must adhere to. Sorry for making you read my blog but I didn't want to give the impression I was shitting on pavlov

Good to know it's easy then. I'm still relatively new to VR and didn't want to break something.
Interesting. I was trying to understand your first post. I really couldn't tell what you were trying to say

There's nothing you can break by fucking around with games, don't worry about it. It's not like you can damage hardware or some shit.

I dunno I've done some dumb shit like installing drivers that I didn't need. Not game related but I fucked my computers bluetooth up because at some point it stopped working. All I had to do was unplug my computer but instead I wasted hours installing a bunch of different drivers

Eh, software shit can be usually fixed quite easily. Just make a backup if you're going to fuck with something, if you run into issues you can quickly restore it.

I need to get back to playing that wad, shit was fun.

>All that greentext
Found the guy who just figured out what comedy chevrons are used for.

Yeah it's really good. I'm almost done with it, I just have the final secret level to finish.
Fuck the flying Archvile final boss.

Yeah virtual cast. It's really cute and you can be anime girls and draw dicks on whiteboards.

besides using it to stream, what makes it so great? Can't you be anime girls in VRChat?

>yet another game ruined by nofun minmaxing tryhards
e-sport was a mistake, god I fucking hate modern gaming
