It unironically had soul
How can this game be play on PC properly?
Dolphin with mouse plugin
Great characters and writing backed up by solid gameplay and great multiplayer.
massive amount of content
God I love how animated the characters are.
Its great.
IT'S TIME TO SPLadmit that there will never, ever be another Timesplitters game. Even if there was one, it would never recapture the magic of the originals and would serve only to spoil and subvert the original greatness and tarnish them in our memory and esteem. It is better this way.

Gives keyboard and mouse controls to the Gamecube version of the games.
thats fine
Everything dies eventually, friend.
New game may not happen, but there is something in the works. One of the series creators and several old Free Radical staff are working on it with THQN.

>“Last year Deep Silver acquired the much-loved TimeSplitters IP,” Lars Wingefors said in a statement. “We’re delighted to announce that one of the series’ creators, Steve Ellis, has joined us to help plot the future course for this franchise.”
Too bad it's been like a year of no further updates. There's still some hope. I'd be happy with a remastered FP
Better to die early and be remembered as a beloved franchise than going on for too long and becoming shit, I guess
Shit, I'd be happy with a port.
this is the absolute worst feel, but its also true
There isn't nearly enough porn of gretel
I'd rather we get a port with a couple new things, because no way in hell would they make a new game for today's market and let Jo-Beth's design slip by (even though they should)
>solid FPS that in an era of Halo shit, still was designed around health/armor and carrying all your guns at once
>genuinely funny
>pop culture references that served as functional homages to the things they were referencing(e.g. Harry Tipper's segments in 2 and FP are obviously James Bond/Goldeneye throwbacks, appropriate given the game's pedigree) rather than Overwatch/Borderlands-tier "lol you guys watch movies right listen to our characters say a quote" tier shit
>really fun and robust local multiplayer, and single player content outside of the main story adding hours upon hours of gameplay
Outside of "Slut" emblazoned on her chest, there's stuff in fucking Fortnite that's way more risque.
>Nu-THQ acquired the rights to the series
How does this even happen? How does any of the big companies let this slip past them? Videogames are so weird.
no poltical statements. doesnt take itself seriously. doesnt hide the fact that its a game. lots and lots of replay value. shitloads of multiplayer features including a map editor with scripting capability. fun character desings that doesnt shy away from silly or downright stupid designs.
I just want TS, FP, and TS2 on PC, bros...
Fortnite is at the point where they can do no wrong with their skins. Although the only truly "wrong" thing they did was remove the jiggle physics on the skin in gif related.
>95% of modern weapons.
>Fire weapon.
>enemy just kind of tanks the bullet, eventually rag dolls over and dies.
>Timesplitters.
>Fire weapon.
>Enemy hops on one foot, grabs shoulder, holds wrist, clutches stomach, topples over backwards.
It was basically a superior version of Goldeneye, but isn't seen as such because it wasn't allowed to be better than Goldeneye.
>that part with 4 Cortezes at the final boss
the madmen actually made it
I really fucking hate when enemies don't visibily get hurt.
Fuck, even Doom and Duke 3D you could stagger opponents dealing damage. They would have stun frames of animation where they are flinching
Even Halo and other games that came out around the same time got this. I don't know when it started in earnest. Medal of Honor on the Ps1 had enemies hopping around and leaping out of the way of bazookas and shit like that as well.
It's definitely better than Goldeneye though, and I say that having played Goldeneye, Perfect Dark,TimeSplitters 2 and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. I love all of those games, though.
Thats what I was saying. Its an improvement in every way, and not just in graphics. The weapons felt better to use, there was more enemy variety, the level design was better, controls even on controller were smoother and easier to handle, and the cutscenes that DID show up from Timesplitters 2 and Future Perfect were great and did a lot to endear you to the characters you were playing as.
But Goldeneye is still seen as this golden cow while Timesplitters is just kind of forgotten by anyone that isn't a hardcore fan. Even the multiplayer had more going for it.
Shit, now that we're talking about it, Perfect Dark was also an astounding improvement over Goldeneye.
Goldeneye is regarded as better simply because it was a watershed moment for the FPS genre and a keystone of 90s gaming, not because it is some technical marvel that hadn't been surpassed by Perfect Dark or Timesplitters. Not to mention being more popular.
Even people making James Bond games must pay tribute to it. It's more ceremony than concrete dogma.
i want to die
>Perfect Dark was also an astounding improvement over Goldeneye
I absolutely agree. Goldeneye was the perfect foundation for what Rare/Free Radical shooters could be, and the subsequent titles only took things to further heights. My only gripe is that I don't prefer how they made Future Perfect's campaign more about getting from point A to B instead of completing a list of objectives in a semi-open map like Time Splitters 2 and older games did. I still like Future Perfect, it has the best cutscenes of them all and has actual HANDS in 1st person, unlike TS2.
Perfect Dark perfected the gameplay of the single-player campaigns, TimeSpillters took that and added ultra-deep Challenge modes, Arcade League, super-customizable Arcade Custom mode and one of the best in-game map editors till games like Far Cry and Doom 2016's SnapMap finally beat it. Not to mention the INSANE roster of characters, guns and game modes to play with too, AND with bots so you can still experience the frantic multiplayer even on your own.
What a fucking based series. If they even try to make a new addition, they have a lot of work cut out for them to make it on-par with the series' prior entries.
No FPS game with non old school level design can be considered great.
The moose isn't loose, lads
Nobody cares, Quakefag, go back to making threads being asspained about how popular Counter-Strike is and that arena shooters are dead.
>EA forces them to make a big singleplayer campaign for FP
>it turns out to be fucking fantastic
