>Start game
>Game automatically sets your graphics to the lowest settings and resolution possible
Start game
>configure settings
>game needs to restart to apply
weird it always sets mine to the maximum
>it's a 15 year old game
forgot pic
>change a setting
>"game needs to be restarted to apply"
>auto-restarts the game
>need to watch through the logos again
>there's THX
>mmmmVVVVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
>opening cutscene cannot be skipped the first time and because you only changed settings the game didn't register you seeing it already
>spend 5 minutes to watch it again
>need to change another setting
>"game needs to be restarted to apply"
>alt+f4
>uninstall
>come back to shitpost on Yas Forums
>texture quality: low
>model detail: low
>shadows: off
>DEPTH OF FIELD ON
>MOTION BLUR MAXED
>SSAA 32x
i seem to get this as my defaults far too often
>start game
>it starts windowed
>but at highest possible settings
>that would otherwise be invalid when fullscreened/borderless fullscreen
sometimes i wonder
This is me
>game sets graphics settings to low
>changing settings requires a restart
>game crashes when it closes so the changes won't save
Fuck Oblivion for being such a piece of shit.
>game start
>can't manage the Main Menu because everything stutter and mouse lag everywhere
>turns out all settings are set on ultrahigh for some reason while my hardware can barely play it on low
>start game
>it starts windowed
>it sets all the settings to low
>the game keeps switching between windowed mode and fullscreen at a rapid pace
>mouse stutter
>unable to click anything
>game crashes so fucking hard it blue-screens my computer
>insert disc
>play vidya
god i wish this was still how it was
>insert disc
>it starts to spin real fucking fast
>console begins to overheat and spark
>disc shoots out of the disc tray, decapitating me
No you don't
But you change the graphics in the launcher before the game runs
outside of patches, and multiplayer games that constantly get content added, explain your reasoning
>start game
>game's recommended settings for your PC still annihilate it
>wait 20 years
inb4 "i can halt entropy by storing my discs differently"
>open game
>game automatically sets itself to ludicrously high settings
>won't run without turning down settings
>give me reasons besides the valid ones
Last time I tried it didn't work. Only workaround was editing the .ini file manually.
this is a modern issue, not one that needs to exist. the only reason patches/updates exist is to add or fix content not in the original release. if i wanted to i could pop most of my library in and play it put of the gate. anything modern would require patches or updates to play which is retarded and is almost exclusively related to multiplayer-equipped titles
user, disc rot is not a present problem in anyone's library. Only the earliest cd games had an issue and most were corrected during that generation; even still, the ones with those issues will only have such negative effects based on consistently poor conditions. Stop being a retard.
post the comic
For some reason HL2 always thinks I should be playing at 640x480 when I reinstall it despite knowing the native resolution and marking it in the menu.
>New game.
>Game starts dropping massive amounts of frames 30 minutes in.
>Can't restart, first save point isn't until 1 hour in.
you physical babbies really get riled up about this. every time.
FYI simply existing is a consistently poor condition. we age. objects degrade. 0's and 1's are eternal. get over it.
It just wants you to have the authentic experience, user.
you're a moron. space station silicon valley can't be 100% completed because of a collision box issue. easily fixed but a patched copy was never printed AFAIK.
this is not a modern issue, it's a modern solution to the problem that game devs aren't perfect and can't catch everything
