Forced to do the water chip quest and then kill the super mutants, if you don't do it quick enough the game ends

>forced to do the water chip quest and then kill the super mutants, if you don't do it quick enough the game ends
>a vault dweller sent out to retrieve a water chip will always be your backstory, no room for role-playing
>only one joinable faction, you are also practically forced to join it
>side quests are all "talk to this guy" "get this part" or "I'll teleport you to a room of bad guys you have to wipe out"
>most skills are usless and are a wasted investment
>certain perks literally do nothing
>you can't even roleplay with S. P. E. C. I. A. L. stats because if you don't put 10 into Agility you're fucked
>no variation in late game build, you will always have to be power armor wearing and energy weapon using because these are the only high level gear available.
>inventory system is shit, you can only see four items and have to scroll down to see more, even though there's plenty screen space that can be used
>can't trade items with your companions, have to do a weird stealing work around because the devs where to lazy to implement another dialogue option
>same animation for picking locks is used for going down stairs(???)
>you have three options during combat "fire gun", "fire gun really good" or use a stimpak, this is most tactics you will ever get
>all fights are the same, just click on the gun and click on the enemy you want to shot, killed the final boss by standing still and just repeated clicking on him
>only one area in the entire game where radiation is a mechanic, IN A GAME LITERALLY CALLED "FALLOUT", the area can be mostly skipped too.
>the radiation mechanic is shit anyway, you either take enough Rad-X to max out resistance and forget there was ever radiation, or have slightly less that 100% resistance and immediately get severely irradiated with Radaway doing fucking nothing to reduce it until you die.

Truly the Greatest RPG Ever Made!

shut the fuck up you stupid cunt, you probably werent even born when this game first came out

all valid points OP, fallout 2 was better anyways

Most of those apply to FO2 as well

An improvement but not by much, it seems fallout franchise has been abandoned anyways

First thing I did was trivialize the game by killing and looting everyone in that bandit camp near the first town. Great game balance!

did they at least improve the character building and the inventory UI? haven't played FO2 yet.

Was anything I said wrong?

Pretty sure you can finish the game with no Intelligence or firearms, but alright.

I didn't pay attention to character building desu, I only care about the actual gameplay
UI is exactly the same
One noted improvement is that you can now push NPCs that are in the way of something so you don't get stuck and are unable to do anything but enter combat

Literally nothing you said is true. Way to go.

Then why don't you point out one of them? Should be an easy task if all of them are false.

>not playing CANON gigachad Albert Cole
>not basing your playthrough on the vault dweller's memoirs from fallout 2

Based and canonpilled

The game doesn't end if you dont find the waterchip. You can roleplay as a vault dweller. Every skill has a use. Every perk does something. You dont need a 10 in AGI. There is more options in combat than to fire a gun. Etc. Etc.

It's like you went out of your way to be wrong about everything.

You dont need to play a combat build, so in fact you can roleplay with SPECIAL stats. For example, in the radscorpion caves in shady sands you can choose to use a bomb to simply collapse the caves as opposed to fighting the scorpions. Also you dont have to fight the master, theres other ways like persuading him or just blowing up the vault hes in

>You can roleplay as a vault dweller
Yeah, that's the only thing you can roleplay as. Reading comprehension is a value.
>Every skill has a use
Hardly. Half of them are completely useless (outdoorsman, trap) while others are borderline essential (big guns, energy weapons)
>Every perk does something
But not something very useful. New Vegas has perks that each have unique value. Only a handful of the Fallout 1 perks are actually valuable to your playthrough.
>You dont need a 10 in AGI
Perhaps if you don't mind your playthrough being a slog.
>There is more options in combat than to fire a gun
Yeah you can punch people in the same way you fire a gun. Epic!

>Reading comprehension is a value.
You literally said "no room for roleplaying." You're even wrong about your own posts.

Also note how your factual assessments have now devolved into generic subjectivity. If you don't enjoy it, go play some of your other zoomer games.

>a vault dweller sent out to retrieve a water chip will always be your backstory, no room for role-playing

Backtracking this early in your argument is NOT a good sign.

You faggots consistently encouraged this boomer / zoomer memeposting, and this is your reward. Absolute idiots slowly taking over the fucking board.

Posting your full sentence and tagging on a snarky quip doesn't change the context. You claimed there is no room for roleplaying. There is.

There is also more than one faction to join (brotherhood of steel, raiders, fargo traders, regulators, thieves guild, etc etc). You literally don't know anything about this game.

NOOOOOO OLD GAME GOOD OLD GAME GOOOOOOOOOOOD

Attached: 1573762797905.gif (185x260, 23.65K)

This but unironically

>NOOOOOO YOU CAN'T HAVE SET RULERINOS AND STARTERINOS, EVERY "RPG" MUST BE A HECKIN DIRECTIONLESS SANDBOX WITH CRAFTING AND SURVIVAL MECHANICS

>enemies don't drop armour when they die because that would make the game too easy
>...except these dozen bandits whose armour will give you enough armour to trivialise money for the rest of the game lmao
what were they thinking?

There is no room for roleplaying beyond playing as a Vault Dweller. There is no way that the OP could have said this more clearly. Trying to alter the meaning of this sentence into something that fits your argument only shows how delusional and desperate you are.

Doesn't matter how many factions you can join if you're restricted to being a Vault Dweller. You can't even turn against your Vault unless you want to end the game early by joining the Unity.

Attached: cm.png (1090x1042, 1.36M)

Yes. Set rules and stats alongside linear weapon/armor scaling has no place within an RPG.

NOOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T HOLD OLD GAMES TO THE SAME STANDARDS THAT WE INCESSANTLY HOLD NEW GAMES EVEN THOUGH WE USE THOSE OLD GAMES TO SHITPOST THE NEW ONES AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Attached: 1340109378088.jpg (716x720, 69.21K)

>forced to do the water chip quest and then kill the super mutants, if you don't do it quick enough the game ends
I hate timers, Jesus fucking Christ I fucking HATE timers in games. It is even worse in this one as it forces you to do its quests first, in an open world full of other things to do.

Well, yes. Old game is in fact good.
But there's no need to be a hysterical anime girl about it.

The classic Fallouts are decent, but they're both inferior to New Vegas.

please keep copypasta trash to your autism circlejerks on /vg/

you sound like an absolute retard

you're min/maxing a SP RPG children's toy, you were wrong before your very first keystroke

>There is no room for roleplaying beyond playing as a Vault Dweller
Thats retarded, not all vault dwellers are the same. Some are smart and evil, others are retarded and good etc. In new vegas there is no room for roleplaying beyond playing as a courier. See how retarded that sounds?

Can you stop being an ultra faggot?
