#2 tried playing it twice but was uberbored after 5 minutes, uninstalled

I think it is overrated and pretentious now because the sequel won't be on a Playstation console.

its an alright walking sim with some serviceable combat here and there. the story is okay but the mythology it delves into is kinda neat.

I'm playing it right now. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece but it does some pretty interesting things.

>Is this a masterpiece like Journos say

I thought journos hated it for not "appropriately" depicting mental health

It has fucking killer sound design and interesting cutscene tech. It also has really good visual design. People say the combat is shit and they're kind of right but its well animated and feels nice, its really quite servicable. Its not intense devil may cry stuff, but it does actually feel cinematic and so on.

It is good to see a visually filmic or cinematic game that actually does cinematic stuff instead of just use "cinematic" as a buzzword. It is not a masterpiece but it is a small triumph and a pretty refreshing game to play insofar as its focused and at the very least extremely competent at what it does.

Also and this is on a less critical note but I like the swords in this game. Esp senuas sword, for some reason the simple almost generic design with lots of care put into its detailing made it stand out for me.

Cool game, 8/10.

It's a surprisingly good game that doesn't overstay its welcome.

Piece of fucking pretentious trash. The writing isn't good or interesting and the gameplay is so bad I got a refund

I didn't like it, the constant voices were annoying and I the gameplay was too basic

It's neither. But by ninja theory's standards this is actually a very decent game. Very very cool aesthetic and atmosphere, gameplay is kind of a mix between a walking sim with a few puzzles here and there and "okay but nothing crazy" combats. Overall the focus is mainly put on the "cinematic" direction and mental health narrative. It has its share of flaws clearly but it's still a really interesting game in my opinion.

Like most games that chose that path tho, the gameplay does the job but is unfortunately not good enough to carry the players for more than a few hours, so the last part can feel repetitive.

Just a slightly above average walking sim, with slightly below average combat.
Kinda sad story, but it's really overwrought, and the stupid collectable audiologs play over the top of the narrator way too much.
The "authentic psychosis" is a laughable representation and any claims that they were indeed going for respectful portrayal are clearly virtue signalling marketspeak.
Some of the music is God tier, some is weird and out of place.
Definitely doesn't need a sequel.

It's in the middle, would have worked better as a third person puzzle game like Mist with no combat

No, they pretend it DOES accurately depict it, which makes it funnier when it it just whispering bitches and shape alignment.

>The "authentic psychosis" is a laughable representation and any claims that they were indeed going for respectful portrayal are clearly virtue signalling marketspeak.
How so?

How do you know it doesn't accurately depict it? Do you work with with mental health?

pirated it
played it for 2 hours
got bored
uninstalled

meh not really OP

I didn't understand the ending

You don't see glowing runes and line them up to open doors.
You don't hear constant people saying clearly defined things to you and jabbering away like a gaggle of school yard girls
And you certainly don't go on mystical journeys into neo-norse underworld to save the soul of your dead boyfriend

My ex did.

>You don't see glowing runes and line them up to open doors.
True but that was done to tie the gameplay with the story
>You don't hear constant people saying clearly defined things to you and jabbering away like a gaggle of school yard girls
Psychosis does that
>And you certainly don't go on mystical journeys into neo-norse underworld to save the soul of your dead boyfriend
Yeah I have nothing
And what did the ex tell you

ur ex was a retard

The atmosphere is fantastic and the schizo puzzles are neat but the tactic to do them is repeated too much. It's definitely worth a playthrough.

>You don't see glowing runes and line them up to open doors.
>you certainly don't go on mystical journeys into neo-norse underworld to save the soul of your dead boyfriend

Guess you've never had a conversation with someone who says they can travel between dimensions inbetween our own.

It sucks. Boring puzzles, shitty combat, sluggish movement. I regret getting it.

it has that "yea... it's propably decent ... i have 0 desire of playing it" feel

i pirated this piece of shit and uninstalled it like 20 minutes in. its a boring walking sim about some crazy bitch

Good production, bad gameplay. That's all I can say about it.
Also incredibly based that it was 20 bucks at launch.

That's not psychosis. That's just posting on /x/

Never said that conversation happened on Yas Forums.

I'm replaying it right now. The visuals are great, especially in the spooky parts but I absolutely despise the walking around and puzzle solving. If they replaced every single puzzle except for the one with the tourches in the cave with combat, this game would be a solid 7/10.

Of all the patients she worked with who had psychotic episodes the shit they experienced was never so defined as the shit you experience in the game.
As with pretty much all media that deals with hallucinations etc, they over blow it for dramatic effect.
Most of the scary shit she told me was people seeing other people in their room briefly, or hearing voices that were garbled and impossible to coherently follow.
More Jacobs ladder and less fight club if you will.
