What are some of the best OST tracks from shmups?

What's up with Shmups having such good OSTs? I primarily play and listen to touhou but every time I pick up a new bullet hell I discover an outstanding soundtrack, everytime without fail.

I think its because by nature its a game where die a lot and replay the same 30 minutes again and again. Imagine trying to practice some stage and you keep hearing some shit music again and again.

the soundtracks have much less songs than say RPGs so there is more effort put into each track, like how touhou stage themes synchronize with what's happening on the screen

Ehh, I mean dark souls 3 had 24 tracks and Touhou pcb had 20 tracks.

It might also be because at this point people who played shmups at some point have great experiences with the music so when they make new shmup games they've been influenced and actively pay attention to the music.

I dunno man, it seems like there's just more effort put into a single track in shmups.
albo PCB is an anomaly for having 1 stage more than any other touhou game

I have the Mushihimesama Futari soundtrack, the cover has a character like but the extra track sounds like a children's song.
So which demographic is it going for really?

PCB easily has the most consistent soundtrack. Each of the 20 tracks were amazing even the stages felt personalized. Stages 4 and 5 were better than most of the boss themes.

The original Windows trilogy just fucking nails it with consistent strokes of quality. Granted, MoF still has my favorite soundtrack in the series.

The entire god damn thing. There is usually a track or two in the soundtrack that feels weaker, like it's building up to the stronger song that will come soon. MoF doesn't have that, it goes apeshit from start to finish and I love it.

Sounds like it's an extra song included in some other type of promotional material, like drama CDs. I haven't looked it up, just going by that filename.
