Is picrelated still a good buy SOLELY for backwards compatibility?

Is picrelated still a good buy SOLELY for backwards compatibility?

I'm worried that it'll be completely eclipsed by XSX and some future PC emulators.

>some future PC emulators
nigga they aint even got the original xbox emulation right

just get the S for 360 games.

>future PC emulators
lol there will never be a low level emulator for PC unless one autist takes up the herculean task to do it

No. All 360 games still use the 360's dogshit Xbox Live overlay that disconnects all the fucking time and I swear to god some of them are running at 720p or less. Only worth it if you really like the small selection of OG Xbox games they have (Mercenaries and Panzer Dragoon are probably my favorites). It'll also most likely get eclipsed by the whatever the fuck next gen Xbox is called.

Also the UI is a big stinky turd of a mess. Classic Microsoft trying to shove as many shitty ads in your face with no option to remove them.

>I swear to god some of them are running at 720p or less
You're right. Very few 360 games are X-enhanced and the ones which aren't will run at their original resolution, which commonly is sub-HD.

The OG Xbox library on Xbone is awful. Just get a hacked Xbox.

Because it's not worth it. Cross platform games worth playing are on the GC or PS2, and Xbox exclusives are just on PC

There are still plenty of good games exclusive to the original Xbox like Outrun 2, Jet Set Radio Future, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Otogi 1 & 2, GunValkyrie and the only good version of Halo CE.

pretty sure cxbx can play half of those stable 60FPS, and halo CE is on PC, version be damned.

>emulation isn't worth it!
>uhh, here's an emulator!
lol okay faggot

the origin of the conversation said there'd never even be emulation, so what's your point?
Anyways, it's a beta emulator that can play a set of games well, but the list of games you gave is 4 games long. Not worth it.

imagine buying one of these now you'd have to have literal shit for brains.

It'll probably be eclipsed by the series X but considering how cheap you can get these things sometimes I'd say its worth it only if you play video games a ton. If not I'd suggest waiting.

user... The Series X is already confirmed to have every previously BC game that was on the Xbox One and more. Just wait.

What? No, not a single Xbox console has BC.
Instead MS has a team that ports them individually.
Only 1% (yes) of Xbox's library is available to play on Xbone/Xsex and only around 22% of 360's library is playable. I don't know how you can call something "BC" when it can't play 99% and 78% of a console's games.
I loved pic related. Can I play it on Xbone/Xsex? Fuck no. Will it be ported in the next 5 years or even a decade? Probably not, not deemed popular enough by MS execs. Same for the vast majority of other cult classics or niche titles.

I actually upgraded my S to an X when burgerland tax returns came in, Microsoft sold them for 300$
Have not regretted it at all, gave my brother my S so we can game together plus I kept all my own peripherals like my SSD and Duke/sport red controllers
I might get a XSX if it can play AoE 4 and such but otherwise I'm comfortable with my supreme console

I bought an OG xbox one a week ago. Came with a kinect as an added bonus. Are there any actual good kinect games for the xbox one or are they all games you play a handful of times and get bored of?

I just hope they continue the program once the Sex is out. There’s a whole lot of original Xbox games they can do

Shitbox

buying one now is like buying a ps2 in 2007 when the ps3 is out literally in a few months. just wait for the new console. the back compat is also better because it's hardware based instead of software based.

>buying one now is like buying a ps2 in 2007 when the ps3 is out literally in a few months.
The PS3 came out in 2006 and that was not a bad idea considering the PS3 didn't get any games until it was half the price in 2009.

yeah but the ps3 could play all the ps2 games in the same way the upcoming xbox can play all the xbox one games and the existing 360/og games they added to back compat. at least you're set for the rest of the gen if you buy the next gen console as well.

launch ps3 could, but that was more expensive than the xb1 is now by far

yeah but if you're paying like $300 for this or even $200 and say you wait like 4 years before the next gen xbox gets price cut to $300 you're still probably going to be paying more than just getting the xbox when it comes out for $450-500 from what i'm reading online and you don't miss out on all the games coming out in that 4 year period of next gen too.

what if, get this, someone isnt going to bother playing new xbox games because they own a pc but want rdr1 in 4k etc

also the series x is going to be 700-1000 guarenteed, but if there is an s version it might be good

we if that's the case then you may as well kill off a backlog and then get this when it's like $100 used in a few years.

lol no, 600 tops

well im not op and i already bought mine

shills have moved their goalpost? used to be "399 for sure"

only people i've seen say 399 are sony fans.

>ads
Oh god I didn't even think about this when thinking about future consoles. I hate what Sony has become so I've been wondering if I should look into the SeX, but I hated how bad the 360 was with its interface and can't stand the idea of it getting worse.

>PS3 had free internet but played with the idea of paid internet with PS+ thanks to XBL
>PS4 is forced PS+ for online
>PS4 is mostly ad free but won't let you get rid of "What's New" and even has some ads added in from time to time, thanks to copying Xbone's ad-centric layout
>insert PS5's future here
I guess I'll be going awhile without a new console unless Nintendo does something crazy. Maybe I'll finally get around to playing more games on PC.

That's going to be Lockhart's price range. PS5 is already suspected to be around ~500-550, so XSX will be similar.

lol who gives a shit about OG xbox
