SNK's such a massive company with a ancient legacy and terry's nearly as big of a crossover whore as ryu that its genuinely surprising to me that some people, ones that claim to be videogame connoisseurs no less, have never heard of either of them
really shows that the actual reason everyone hates smashtards is because they literally do not play other games at all, hell i'm not even sure how much of smash they actually play. like goddamn if as many people wanted isaac as they actually played the games we'd probably have not gone nearly 10 fucking years without a new golden sun

None of their games sell above 1 million units. Sakurai had to make a 40min presentation to inform people who SNK is. They went bankrupt TWICE.

I don't think there's anything wrong with video game connoisseurs not knowing who these literally who's are who needed Sakurai for extra recognition.

If that were actually the case for a legitimate literal who and not a company that has been putting out classic games for decades.

Imagine being an unironic 2000s zoomer who doesn't know who Terry is. It really is a generation thing because anyone over the age of 23 has at least heard of the character even if you've never played any of the games.

Terry and Hero are the only fun DLC characters regardless of how familiar you are with their history. The only Terry game I've played is CvS2 and that's not even an SNK game, and the only DQ I've played is Builders 2.

His side special, back air, neutral air, and up tilt are all still incredibly satisfying and fun to use even ignoring his spells but yeah sure take away his signature move and he's a lot less interesting. Take away all Terry's special inputs too while you're at it.

back in the heyday of arcades SNK is rival to Capcom. They had their own line of machines, IPs out the wazoo, crossovers everywhere.
Then the age of consoles came, Capcom chose to move and they didn't. So they died for a while and drowned in Pachinko machines. But you can't say they weren't a big company
