Just beat the true ending to this game. Fucking masterpiece.

Fuck off cuckold.
Not quite, the only problem I saw in the game was how easy it was to get more moons. Buy almost unlimited number of them, bullshit. Besides that I thought there were too many and in many cases too easy to find. Nintendo has to get out of the habit of collecting over 900 of anything it sucks. Also my last complaint is every stage has multiple methods that are practically the same thing when you find moons. There are very few like looking for the flying sphinx using the green binoculars but other than those kinds of static moons they shouldn't rely on repeating the same kind of moon. Also, Nintendo should've cut down on some of the purple coins you have to collect. The less shit you have to collect the better because it's usually more distracting than not.
I agree the game had a lot of cool moments though, great.
>Fuck off cuckold
>Not quite
Yes quite.
Odyssey > BotW
It's No Masterpiece
Joseph Anderson on suicide watch.
No, Odyssey is good but BotW is fucking amazing.
Sunshine >>> 64 >>>>>>> the rest
No, Odyssey is a masterpiece and BotW has too many flaws.
>sunshine
Hah.
I think the problem was that they had moons fulfill too many roles. They aren't a 1:1 replacement for Stars, they fill more roles than that. Things like different types of coins, 1ups, starbits in Galaxy, etc. in previous games were meant to draw your attention and get you to follow a path. It would make you say, "I can see that so I can get there." Or you'd follow them and get to a place where the camera would force you to look at your actual objective. Odyssey, bafflingly, had some moons actually fill this role. They're not just a reward, they're bait to point you towards other rewards which might also be bait pointing you towards the real reward.
botw is more ambitious but odyssey has far less flaws
what are these flaws?
Fucking cringe. It's one of the worst Mario's. Mario64 was way better and more masculine.
based
this is an Odyssey thread, not a BotW thread. to sum it up though: shrines instead of dungeons, shitty combat, broken food system, obviously rushed out (rito area in particular is rather bare)
don't bother trying to argue, I'm not going to respond
It's way too autistic and child like and had too much bloat per world for me to call it a masterpiece but it's fantastic
No I wouldn't go that far, I'd say they're more or less on the same level of quality but I think BOTW still wins in the end. Neither is that good.
Mario64 aged better because there's less bloat and less collecathon shit. Super Mario Sunshine had the annoying blue coins in excess. Super Mario Galaxy games had the green starts though at least having to get them in weird placements was cool. Super Mario Odyssey basically bullshits the moon count and makes it easy to cheese with purchase. On top of that you have to collect more coins like Sunshine. Nintendo should reduce the number and not try hard to hide them. Also, give me a damn map and a sensing function so I know if there are some nearby. This kind of kiddie shit shouldn't be in games for Everyone.
I feel that the only way to really know which is better is dependent on which IP you like more, I loved odyssey but holy shit I poured days into BOTW
>buying moons
if your moon list isn't gold, it doesn't count.
>shrines instead of dungeons
what if i liked having shrines instead of dungeons? not really an objective flaw in the game
>shitty combat
how?
>broken food system
how?
>obviously rushed out
how?
>don't bother trying to argue, I'm not going to respond
that's because you people like to spam x game is good or x game is bad and not discuss what specifically you didn't like about the game and why
yikes
>not discuss what specifically you didn't like about the game and why
go discuss it in a botw thread
are you new here? threads go to other topics all the time
I'm not going to shit up this thread with you, sorry
Not same user but the combat is pretty straightforward and I'd say too straightforward which isn't a bad thing but windows for parries are quite wide and easy to flurry rush enemies. Besides that the weapon durability mechanic is crap, you have a lot of slots to make up for the fact but it's still pretty annoying having to scavenge areas to replace weapons that break not long after you use them. Despite Nintendo making some efforts to make the combat more challenging than past games I'd still say it's not challenging enough and more so the case in the dlc hero mode where Nintendo had to rely on regenerating enemies rather than up their speed and AI. Defeating calamity Ganon is a nightmare because of this in that mode.
The game was rushed out because you can tell like half of the story elements were completed whereas the other half was pretty damn weak. The stuff on Death Mountain and the Rito village was half assed clearly. I would've been willing to forgive if one was better than the other but both were pretty meh. Most enemies are reskins and you don't get that much variety in types. Dungeons were crap and no enemies to boot besides skulls.
I think a lot of people will agree with the flaws I mentioned, the game has them because you can compare it with every past 3D Zelda game that came before it and I can guarantee people liked certain things about them over this one. Basic mechanics like combat should be a standard in every game with some variation but always engaging. Skyward Sword and BOTW are doing well in taking the combat in the right direction but Nintendo should avoid bullshit like easily spammed flurry attacks.
that's because you don't have any actual opinions and repeat what you hear about the game to other people. stop responding to me then you weasel like you originally said
>windows for parries are quite wide and easy to flurry rush enemies
I'll take your word for it, i haven't used flurry rush much when i played and haven't played the game in a few years.
>Besides that the weapon durability mechanic is
I disagree the weapon durability is what made the combat more unqiue compared to previous zelda games. it adds a layer of player introspection espiecally early on in the game by having weapons break on you in battle and having to decide to find another one or decide what weapon you want to use against the enemy, and deplete it while doing so.
>Despite Nintendo making some efforts to make the combat more challenging than past games I'd still say it's not challenging enough
eh the zelda games combat was never particularly challanging and was more focused on puzzle solving. I personally don't mind it but i could see how people who aren't as into zelda could see it as a weakness to botw.
>The game was rushed out because you can tell like half of the story elements were completed whereas the other half was pretty damn weak. How?
>Most enemies are reskins and you don't get that much variety in types.
you have quite a few enemy types, from the top of my head i would say there's 7. I would definitely agree the three goblins are over represented.
Based OP happy you enjoyed it. The Swtich overall is very overrated by people here (especially if you owned a Wii U so had already played BotW, Splatoon etc) but Mario Odyssey is one if the few games that made it worth purchasing
I like Zelda much more than Mario but I prefer Odyssey in a lot of ways to BOTW. BOTW was great but it didn't have a lot of the elements I play Zelda for in it
