why are gamecube discs so small?
Why are gamecube discs so small?
Everyone says it was an anti-piracy measure, but I don't know how true that actually is.
Failed anti-piracy attempt.
They also spin the opposite direction of every other disc medium.
So you can store them in a pringles can
baby games, baby discs
Less grafics

To avoid paying Sony royalty.
probably so they didn't have to pay to use DVD
>Failed anti-piracy attempt.
lets also just forget they also did it to avoid royalties to dvd and it was cheaper.
it was my favorite system but holy shit, get destroyed
they went with Panasonic mini-DVD and Panasonic DVD for Wii because they dont want to pay Sony for license fees to use DVD
they are easier to eat that way
do they store 4gb?
Imagine what could have been.

Someone post that webm of the mangled regular size disc running in a gamecube pls
>failed
Didn't piracy ramp up for GameCube years after the Wii came out? If I remember correctly, the only systems that were easy to pirate at the time was the Dreamcast and PS2.
That's just a fucking frisbee.
the gamecube piracy didn't ramp until the last year until Wii came out, because the mini-dvds were expensive and rarer to procure compared to regular dvds back then.
>gamecube has better graphics hardware than ps2
>ps2 had better textures because more room on disc
Why is Nintendo so stupid
You could easily run normal DVDs on GameCube if you removed the whole upper... cover, or whatever the fuck you people say that in English.
>pic related
Not a joke. Also, there were custom ''covers'' for normal DVDs.

For small Japanese hands.
Same reason Playstation controllers are small, Xbox ones are big.
Japs are tiny people, my dude.
Tiny people.
instead of "cover" i'd call it a "casing" maybe

>easily
>They also spin the opposite direction of every other disc medium
really?
Yeah, case. Sorry. I'm ESL and I couldn't remember the proper word, lol.
Yes, easily. Remove the case, put the disc in it and turn on the GameCube. And try not to touch the disc with your tongue while it's spinning.
