How do you know it's the best in the world if you haven't played it?

If you start at ps1 you'll miss a lot of the classics

Dont give up, the second set of Zones arent too bad. Nothing a little practice wont fix.
The real pain is yet to come.
The difficulty of zones in gaiden tend to fluctuate way too randomly, so you're gonna have to experience each one before finding out which ones are thee easy ones instead of relying on their position on the map

/m/ is autistic, it's just the /m/-autism is fun and charming. Unfortunately even that's starting to fade in places.

Still mainly playing RayCrisis, and I'm still very bad at it. I'm hoping to 1cc it eventually, but it's going to take a long time and lots of restarting.

I just emulate the arcade vesion with shmupmame, its not perfect emulation but its more than playable and handles really well

It's damn good. You make a team out of 3 pilots featuring new and old Raizing characters, but you can also go solo. The game features secret bosses and levels that you can get by achieving certain things during your playthroughs. The OST is also really, really damn good.

when the arcade was open i would go and try to work on Dodonpachi Daioujou (think this is the right vers.) but now they are closed because of corona. probably for the best i was burning like 6 bucks on that thing every time i went

I kind of miss the Epic STGs of the 32-bit era. Despite being as short as normal, they had such a neat sense of scale and ambition to them that hasn't been replicated since.

It was a smart move from JRPG user. He posted the threads daily with ecchi, and now the threads are such a big part of this board that he can basically start some without even posting ecchi in the OP.

Sadly, JRPGs have a huger fanbase on Yas Forums than shmups, or anywhere actually.

I've been playing crimzon clover as my first shmup, it's fun but i only do a run or two trying not to die much and fuck off to another game,
it only takes like 30 min to beat but by now the first level feels so slow i'm not sure if it's for me, can you niggas recommend some other pc shmup

So whats your favourite shmup ship and why?

For me, it's the Vic Viper. The mix of classic fighter jet and spaceshuttle does it for me. The split nose is also a huge plus and sexy as hell.
