Homecoming was the more polished one, with better environments, more manageable combat, and far better monsters designs, despite the forced fanservice with Pyramid Head and the nurses. But it's also clearly trying to ape SH2's plot twists alongside the cult jank of the original, while filtering them both through an action-horror movie lens that doesn't really mesh with itself in the end.
Downpour was the more creative one, trying to do a bit more of its own thing with the mechanics and storytelling with an open-map design. Some of the exploration and side-quests actually have some surprisingly good moments, but they're all optional, and the shitty combat isn't. It's far jankier and the monster design is the weakest that the series has to offer.
So the answer is Origins. Origins is the worst one. While Shattered Memories is the best one.

Downpour had cool ideas but the execution wasn't very good. i also liked the protag even if he was a little too similar to James.
Not video game, not even done by the same division of Konami. they share IPs but only that. they have done this for 20 years and Konami were far from alone doing this. (looking at you Capcom, Bandai and especially SEGA.)

I think it's just considered more egregious with Konami doing it because it was literally (and continues to be) the only new thing from the franchise for ages.
No one cares if there's a goofy Resident Evil pachinko machine somewhere, because Capcom's still doing some actual things with Resident Evil.

Well, pachinko market is pretty dead nowaday. Konami amusement mostly only do arcade games now. and Konami gaming (the casino dude) also are a separate branch.
What one branch does, do not influence what the other do.

Downpour was the worst to me. I felt annoyed most of the game. There were cool moments no doubt, like the first encounter with the doll enemy, that hansel & grettel play, and that section in the library for example. I didn't like anything else though.

Homecoming at least tried to be Silent Hill with all the creepy stuff and industrial otherworld (although too industrial and not as wacky as the originals).
Downpour is just an horror game, but there isn't anything all that creepy in it, the main plot and subplots are all just basic murders. Even Origins had the creepy subplot about the MC's father committing suicide and stuff like that.

It's clearly a side game. even the game story is a side thing, you spend most of the game not in SH.
it was a good decision to not call it SH5. A real SH5 started back then by team silent btw, but it was canceled and never properly announced. same for SH 2013 who canceled (may or may not be by Kojima who was Vice president of konami at the time) and had Masahiro ito on board, then the silent hills fiasco, and now the new rumors...the franchise always had weird internal stories.

speaking of which, the director of the first movie announced he will do a new SH movie, could be more like the original idea of the SH movie he did :

I'm playing it on RPCS3, it runs alright actually and my PC is actually somewhat slow compared to the average Yas Forums build. So I would yes, it's playable, the RPCS3 devs put a lot of effort in making it run properly last year.

at least Masahiro Ito confirmed there's multiple pyramid shaped creatures in SH, but they all have variations depending on who see them.
speaking of which, if the rumor is true, pyramid head will die at the start or in the trailer of the next SH, Ito said he always wanted to do that for shit and giggles.

I don't think Silent Hill's story really worked for a film format, but as far as video game adaptions go I have a genuine soft spot for it. The pacing was odd, and the cult plot was wonky, but I liked the atmosphere, the look of the monsters, the use of the game music, etc. I even really liked the original ending. They could have ended on a dumbass jump-scare, but instead it was quiet, and otherworldly, and tragic in a way that feels at home with the nature of the series. I don't know, something about those last few minutes really stuck with me.

Granted, I think I gained a higher appreciation of it after I watched the sequel movie, which was absolutely horrible by comparison. You could tell that the director of the first film was at least trying to emulate the nature of the games despite whatever issues it had.
