That's a strange decision considering they have means to generate it. I can't imagine it being harder than pasting a text in a dedicated software or extension..

I liked it. Complete edition improves it, Aerith/Zach scenes in the lifestream are kino. It got hate in 2005 cause albeit what many people claim, few actually played through all of ff7 and bitched about it making no sense.

I guess they take more care in animating important scenes (maybe as a post-procesing step to a generated base), like Cloud's subtle eye animations when he's bantering with Rufus that don't really show up in side quest dialogue

that's from Advent Children but it's a flashback of the moment in the Northern Crater where the party gangs up on Sephiroth in 7, they just used that shot because they had it on hand and it looks good

I remember liking this movie for the final fight scene with Cloud and Sephiroth, also watched some amvs with Linkin Park on youtube around 07, you can still find some of them lying around and the comments are like a time machine.

That wasn't from the events of Advent Children, that was just from the prologue recap of the movie of when they fought Sephiroth in the end. It was probably more of a reference and "cool fight scene" rather than showing events of Advent Children.

And was it actually erased? I thought it was just a climactic culmination of the fight with Sephiroth.

I don't even know which Sephiroth it was meant to be. Because the sephiroth you fought in the Shinra building was clearly a piece of Jenova, but the Sephiroth in the end had the wing and may have been THE Sephiroth even though he is supposed to be crystalised in the Northern Crater at this point, so there's a lot left unexplained.

I bought the blu ray years ago at a pawn shop, and it's sat on my shelf unopened since then. I'm feeling motivated to give it a go after having finished the remake.

There is a distinct line between "Main Story Cutscene" and "Side Quest Cutscene". The main story ones outright look better than Advent Children in places, and the side quest ones just use the generic canned talking animations.

Well but if they have means to generate lipsync, I don't think that would demand that much care. Of course I ain't expecting the same animation as in key story sequences, but it kinda felt wrong, especially in the cutscene I posted.

The "clones" aren't actual clones, they are just ordinary people like Cloud with pieces of Jenova in them. If he was one of the clones then they were basically fighting another piece of Jenova? I thought if it has a one wing it is meant to be Safer Sephiroth.
