FF7 NES

Does this have the most soul out of all the versions?

Into the trash it goes

Has anybody actually played through this

God sometimes the NES sound chip can sound so fucking grating

That music is ear piercing

No it's just trash. play the original with chibi models and remako mods.

looks and sounds like shit

The art style of 8 bit games is all same looking, terrible

Is this even the normal NES sound chip? I've never heard a NES game sound this terrible.

no, the remake has the most soul.

>That music is ear piercing
Based zoomer

if red 13 is playable in this and not the remake I will laugh

I hate tiktok

That’s pretty good for a fan rom. And it’s almost as old as FF7

the music makes my ears bleed desu

based and nomurapilled

>old good
>new bad
>old gooder

You retards should be praising this,
if not, no right to critique the remake, kys

Here's Aerith's Death scene

He is, he looks like a horse.

>battle theme plays over jenova fight
kino ruined

>plays boss theme at the start
>no bombing mission track
>cloud doesn't become level 7 after the first fight
Into the trash it goes

>Nes
make it SNES or GBA and then we can talk. 8 bit demakes fucking suck and always lean into the limitation rather than pushing it. Look at shovel knight, all but what, 1-2 screens technically could be made on an nes barring hard drive limitations, but battle screens are solid black and blue in this with the chippiest bleeps and chirps. It's always like "what if this game that pushed the boundaries had noone with any passion or creativity and worked very safely within said boundaries"

That game was made by someone whose idea of fun is painstakingly hacking in assembly code to program thousands of scripted sequences into FF1.
The dude's not a composer. Blaming the NES for it is like blaming the concept of a saxophone because some random dude farted into the nozzle of one.

The real classic version

Never heard of this game before but this soundtrack is bangin' yo.

>Doesn't level up to 7 after the first battle
Trash.

It's a NES demake made by Chinks and then polished up by some random dude on Romhacking into playable state cause the Chink original is pretty fucking awful.
This one is pretty good in terms of gameplay and visuals, but since it completely uses up NES memory limitations, the music got completely fucking shafted due to lack of space and memory. Personally I'd rather remove some of the random monsters and simplify some of the tilesets to make room for better quality music because this shit is a travesty that brings the whole experience down to unplayable for me due to ear-rape, even though gameplay and visuals are great (for NES).

I thought your link was going to be Mansion Basement

>soul
As a oldfag I gotta say this SOUL buzzword is cringe as fuck.
All it does is show how much of a nostalgia faggot you are.
Old games were better, thats true, but not because of how they looked.

Fun fact, Mansion Basement is simply bugged, the instruments are assigned incorrectly to the MIDI.

0:15 is when it shows over the fixed instruments

If you think soul is purely about how something looks at a superficial level then you, just like OP, do not understand soul.

Isn't space only an issue if you want to make physical copies (even then you could in theory make your own mapper)?

Space yes, memory no.
This rom already uses custom mapper in fact.
It's the memory limit that's something you can't bypass. It's a hardware limitation.

Are the weapon fights in this

Romhacking mentions optional superbosses so I think so

I thought it was made by Chinese bootleggers because NES was still the most popular console in the third world at the time
