I get most of the people here are autistic and don't understand how feelings work, but just because you aren't close to your parents doesn't mean it gets you over the psychological effect of them being your parent. Shit is gonna fuck with you, especially if it happens out of nowhere because deep down inside you always still hold out hope that they will change because you still have memories.
