Yep
Yasunori Mitsuda bro
Best song in the game

Yasunori Mitsuda is making the score for a new RPG, too.

>tfw I love the vocal songs in xeno games but no one must know my secret
It's great
Watch the concert.
Any tips for this game? just arrived at Not-Tattooine/Arrakis
Great song. I don't remember ever hearing this in the game.
It's amazing, but noticably not enough tracks for the size the game was, and the recycling of the tracks really shows. The music for the G-Elements boss is just so out of place.
Look up a guide to know how to efficiently grind and learn Deathblows.

Kino as fuck
One of Mitsuda's weakest works.
Him ripping off Masamichi Amano because Takahashi wanted his ebin Giant Robo references doesn't help.
It's great but it gets old very fast, especially since CD1 is padded out to hell and back. I say this in every Xenogears thread and I'll say it again here; if their entire budget wasn't blown on CD1, they trimmed all the fat, and focused on delivering the main storyline in the game currently with a focused experience, this would have been the best JRPG ever made through and through
was there a music in the OST that sounded Akira-esque? I can't find it
One of the composer's best, but Chrono Cross is even better.
For me it's youtube.com
It captures the tone of the game so well.
What the other user said, look into how the deathblow system works so you don't end up 20 hours in still using your first deathblow like me.
Definitely the biggest issue. What's there is probably Mitsuda's most atmospheric soundtrack, but there just isn't enough of it.
The same issue kinda pervades most of the game, actually.
The one game that I love to replay all the way until the end of disc 1 and then completely lose interest.
No arguments from me. I love Grafh's theme.
You just got to push each button triangle, square, and X a certain number of times in each position iirc.
>I don't remember ever hearing this in the game.
It doesn't fully play in the game. It's world map theme
if you missed getting the rock paper scissors badge and the mermaid tear start over and grab them and get midori's ring too if you missed that. it's in a patch of flowers outside the doc's house. here's a little guide that shows all the side content it's mostly spoiler free except for the name of locations and a few pictures: shrines.rpgclassics.com
you will come across a shop with ether doublers in stock before too long, they are the strongest items in the game but they're expensive. you should grind for them if you really want to break the game but it's not necessary. you get a free once much later in a dungeon
finally, this one is a little spoilery but very important there's a boss you fight on disc 2 that will self destruct if you don't finish the fight fast enough. if you manage to kill him before he explodes you get a very, VERY, VEEEERY important item I would reload and look up how to beat him fast when you get to him
I love the music box song for whatever reason

Maybe you're thinking of youtube.com
The final boss theme has similar vocals at parts too.
Yeah it's a vocal arrangement of the world map theme that was cut from the final game.
BUT deathblows don't count towards button experience, and that's a big point to make.
>One of Mitsuda's weakest works.
you gotta be kidding
I feel like I beat this game without ever understanding the combat fully. All I ever did was a bunch of combos.
i was thinking of one without vocals, but thanks for the link anyway
i was pretty sure it was the theme of the "bee-hive" city but it's not
He did nothing wrong
>"bee-hive" city
What the fuck are you talking about? If it's not one of these then I have no idea.

What when where
Can't disagree with that, Knight of Fire and Grahf Emperor of Darkness are my favorites.
Every time Grahf showed up was a treat.
Hope you guys have been enjoying Creid as much as I've been over the years. youtube.com
Damn I was actually thinking about playing this game soon since its on my backlog. I have heard that Disc 2 is kinda trash and kills the pacing, is it still worthy of a full playthrough?
>that june mermaid
I'll have to listen to the rest later
Yes.
Cool, I have enjoyed other ps1 rpgs, legend of dragoon is one of my favorites. Anything important I should know before diving into this one?
My favorite is Lahan. For such a brooding, beautiful soundtrack it's nice to have such a lively song.
For me its

It really captures the ancient ayy lamo atmosphere of the game.
