I won't apologize because I never hated them. Dark Souls II, despite the flaws, was a much better game overall than Dark Souls III. It had better PVP, better build diversity, and much more replayability.
That said, Dark Souls III isn't bad, but it just has way too much rehashing for it to really stand on its own. Neither 2 nor 3 are better than DS1, DeS, or BB.

Outside of having kind of jank graphics and a non-memorable soundtrack (other than the Majula theme), the game itself is fucking fun. There's so many areas to explore. It's almost like a bizarre PS2 game on steroids which is probably why I love it so much.

They never patched any hitboxes(or any gameplay related issues) in DS1 when it was ported. It played almost exactly the same as the console versions when running at 30fps. The only differences the port had compared to consoles was the god awful performance that needed to be fixed with DSFix.

I believe so, yeah. It was just used more for texture replacements and improving the graphics than fixing the performance since the DS2 pc port actually functioned on release, compared to DS1.
