Yas Forums hates every single piece of media and browsing this board inherently means wading through hateful comments about things you love. So, with that in mind, I’m curious about the people who browse this board:
Do you ever feel insecure about your tastes?
Do you maintain your positive opinions about things you enjoy even when consensus suggests the opposite?
Does browsing this board make you angry and less confident in yourself or your interests?
Personally this site does piss me off, but it’s one of the only places to discuss vidya. Even then it’s a shithole.
>nd browsing this board inherently means wading through hateful comments about things you love. Thats just Yas Forums entirely. Most of the time for no real reason too.

No Yes Mad? Only when I see really stupid shit but you have to be a special type of retard to get any rise out of me. Less confident? Not really.

My favorite games are Hollow Knight, Melee, and Undertale. If I wanted to be accepted by Yas Forums I would just take one of those generic 3x3s with deux ex and some pretentious old school pc cinematic platform and pretend theyre my favorite games
keep playing shit games. and stay on your shit containment website faggot

>Do you ever feel insecure about your tastes? Sure, but it's more of a generalized self-esteem thing and applies to more than just video games. It's also been the case since way before I ever started posting on Yas Forums, for what it's worth. >Do you maintain your positive opinions about things you enjoy even when consensus suggests the opposite? Certainly. People are entitled to their own opinions, same as I am to mine. For everything I like that you think is shit, you probably like something I think is shit. It does get annoying when people dismiss things based on a single keyword or the like, but eh, no accounting for taste, and it's not like they're actually blocking my access to the stuff I like, so live and let live. >Does browsing this board make you angry and less confident in yourself or your interests? I'd be lying if I denied ever being frustrated by it. However, it helps to bear in mind that posts here tend to be somewhat exaggeratedly off-the-cuff, and to try and read with a filter on, so to speak. "[Game] is shit and you're a shit person for liking it" actually means "I did not personally enjoy [Game]," for instance. And I like to think that anyone misusing the word "objectively" is doing so intentionally. As for losing confidence in my own interests, no. Refer back to the previous question.
yes, you're replying to yourself user... time to wake up

The problem is some people think being contrarian is some kind of Yas Forums identity and made a competition out of it and ruin any kind of discussion. Mods won't do shit about them because "opinions". Also illiterate edgelords, see that thread where op asked whether they prefer a containment zone or full apocalypse world, like the difference between STALKER and Metro, and someone had to sperg out shitting on slavs for no reason other than mentioned games.
Some retards nowadays even defend cancelled (Call of) Doom 4.

>Do you ever feel insecure about your tastes? No. >Do you maintain your positive opinions about things you enjoy even when consensus suggests the opposite? Yes. >Does browsing this board make you angry and less confident in yourself or your interests? Does it fuck, why would it. A literally faceless mob of people telling me I'm shit won't change a thing.
The complaints have been consistent, from the start of the website and even before most of us were born. There's ultimately no leaving this place because it may as well be the only one where honesty thrives even among the larps. The substanceless positivity cult has almost entirely taken over the meatspace, and they have nothing interesting to say about anything while taking criticism of anything they like as well as any boomer they hate. It's not an accident most of us are here, even the ones that constantly piss and moan about negativity.
A lot of people will say Yas Forums was never good. That's not the case. This place was tolerable before the 2016 election tourists showed up.

every once in a while there's a good thread, after midnight when all the retarded burgers and underages fall asleep, in threads about niche games or discussing miniscule details in games that would otherwise go not discussed. theres maybe 5-6 anons in the thread discussing peacefully with well thought out and detailed responses without any buzzwords or wojaks those threads are rare, but theyre great and its the only reason i keep coming back
Colton Lewis
Why can't you people just learn to accept criticism? Why does it upset you that someone doesn't like the things you like? Why is it hard for you people to admit that everything has flaws and yet suffer from blind devotion to material things? Why does everyone have to take a knee to your opinions as if you mattered more? Who are the fuck are you to judge someone for what they do not like? Are you wrapped in baby foreskin so thin that any little breeze of negativity physically harms you? Then let me put you in harms way by saying this, "its shit". Everything you love is shit. Everyone you love is shit. Your whole life is and will always be shit and if you can't learn to accept this then you have no reason being on Yas Forums, you have no reason being on the internet, and you have no reason even being in this world. Kill yourself OP and hopefully you'll get thicker skin in the next life.
