now would be the perfect time or a dune game so what would you want out of it?
Now would be the perfect time or a dune game so what would you want out of it?
I'd want it to be like Dune 2000, but with way more content
Dunes.
Make it a 4X game
It'd be a pretty boring 4x game, with only 3 factions doing open conflict and the rest supporting it via proxy offworld
isnt rimworld inspired by dune
I'm sure the new movie will be shit, but Timothee Chalamet is so cute.
What if they would alter story and fracture the major houses and bring minor factions? I am all that familiar with lore of Dune but i'd assume houses have rivals and cartels
There's not really any sub-factions to speak of in Dune though, as all factions are portrayed as monolithic with the same goals and wants, even the Fremen tribes.
Could probably go the Westwood route and make up major houses like the Ordos to pad them out, but then there's the other issue of making each House distinct from one another. I just don't think the setting would lend itself well to 4x. I'm ready for a bigger Loreman to blow my argument out of the water now.
I'd rather they wait a couple years for the counter-culture to kick in again and we don't have to deal with dick chopping Californians shitting it up.
I'd rather play as a worm. Eating Spice harvestors, fucking up other worms. Dodge the fremen that want to ride ontop of me for no reason.
Where can I download Dune?
I tried looking for it a while back but couldn't find it
if you mean the books im pretty sure 1337x has the whole series
Grand Strategy game with asymmetric factions, espionage, diplomacy, agents whose loyalty can be compromised by other factions and a focus on economy and balance of power. You can play as the Bene Gesserit, Guild, Tleilaxu, Ix or the Imperial House in addition to the Houses Major and the stage is the entire universe, not just Arrakis. Takes place like a century before the first book and factions have their own faction-specific objectives. Gameplay is centered around assigning agents to missions. A sort of combination of Paradox titles and SW:Rebellion. Focus on multiplayer because AI can't understand diplomacy anyway.
/t/ might have them
Something like Mount and Blade would be neat
voice activated wrist blaster
I found one on there that claimed to be the series but I don't see the first Dune on here
You'd just set it during the jihad or the great dispersing or something. It's really not that hard.
If you set it during the dispersing you can make whatever factions you want with a few exceptions and just flavour it on the factions in Leto's time and make sure to have them align with the confirmed factions like the matreses that we get in the post leto books.
That would be the ideal game. The map could also be randomly genned without being non-canon because the entire point of it was sending out seeders to start humanity through the unknown and in some ways unknowable universe.
Matter of fact that also explains and justifies why you'd start out with a small scale society, next to no territory and no understanding of the map.
There's fucking loads of imperial friction. You're specifically wanting it to be based around Paul or Leto which is retarded. Hell, even during the Golden Path there are enough factions to make something interesting.
libgen?
Emperor 2, but with all three factions being even more diverse from each other and with even more crazy shenanigans.
Pity that House Ordos ain't a Frank Herbert creation.
Theres already a dune game
And RPG that's basically a supped up version of the Old KOTOR games.
looks like Libgen had the first one
Thanks
There'll never be another Dune game.
The only reason we had a couple of Dune games in the first place was Westwood managed to get a license to make games based on the '84 movie.
That license has since expired and returned to the Herbert family estate, who when they were questioned about remakes or re-releases of Dune 2 and Dune 2000 replied with "Old things should stay old". Which means we wont even see Dune 2 or Dune 2000 put on GoG or made to run on modern systems.
There's a Dune movie coming out sometime this year, but the merchandising license has already been given to a company owned by Tencent, so IF we get any sort of Dune game from this new movie it'll be a shitty chinese mobile game.
There is empire of the fallen sun for you. Pretty old and not exactly dune but carries a lot of similarities
Might as well link the guy's video
Chapterhouse > god emperor of dune = dune > children of dune = heretics of dune > dune messiah
pinball
yeah, but i mean i just saved everyone 21min of their life they'll never get back.
user...You like to talk out of your ass a lot I bet I mean you sounded so sure when you said that lol, get your head out of there
polygon.com
yeah, and Funcom are owned by Tencent.
Enjoy your shitty Dune p2w gatcha mobile game my dude. It's literally all the Chinese make.
>Old things should stay old
Dangerously based. They should let it get upp'd to GoG though.
Bitch, next time do your research and dont talk like you know shit when you don't
