Im bored.
Except FFXIV And WoW, recommend me a Fantasy MMORPG. It can be a hidden gem. Just recommend me to it
Im bored
Bump. Help me ffs
none
FFXI
MMOs suck
wow is the only mmo that has content. just go play that and be mad at its shitty class design or play a different genre
What do you like in mmos?
As someone who has hundreds of days of playtime in both FFXIV and WoW, and has tried basically every other one out there, there are unfortunately no others out there that are better. Trust me, I know how disappointing it is to hear that.
The closest one would be GW2. It does a lot of things right (very alt-friendly, true horizontal progression, good PVP) but unfortunately it still suffers from a myriad of issues both big and small. The story is pretty lame and often cringe, but it has its good moments. ArenaNet (the devs) have also had a very rocky relationship with the community over the past year or so. But the main thing that turns me personally away from it the most is the absolutely abysmal optimization/performance issues that have consistently plagued the game since its launch (due to the engine only running on DX9).
Other than that, all other fantasy MMOs are either P2W Korean gookshit (BDO, TERA, ArcheAge, Aion, Blade & Soul, etc.) or nostalgia shit like WoW Classic, OSRS, and private servers of other various old MMOs. The genre as a whole is just not in a good spot, and it's not looking to improve anytime soon. The only big """MMO""" on the horizon is New World, but if you've followed its development at all you can tell it's a trainwreck waiting to happen.
> Leveling (Not gonna lie, i enjoy leveling a lot)
> Open PVP
> Big ammount of Skills
> Large Selection of Classes
> Raids
> Questing
fuuuuuuuu.
I played GW2, back when it was B2P, and i dont liked it to have just a small ammount of skills.
Also, i missed the open pvp. In WoW Classic the only thing i would say was nice, was the leveling. I finally could quest inside zones, i havent met in retail. Retail is do two-three quests, switch zone, etc.
I was hoping for 4Story Origin to come out month ago, but they decide to change the release date all over. Then some Real Life currency came out and now my hype is gone
wrong. time-gated rep grinds and other mind-numbing daily/weekly chores =/= content
i didnt say it was good content.
Beats a 1 hour quest chain after several months of nothing from ffxiv.
mmos are a dead genre and you missed the boat by like 15 years kiddo
Don't get memed into playing XIV unless you're planning on playing solo or have friends. The community is fucking ass.
I played FFXIV since the beginning of the second Addon, but never success into getting my Friends comming over, because and i quote
> Its not WoW, i dont want to learn any other game, im too old for this
And i liked the Community more then in wow.
I missed the way, where you get inside a dungeon and they greet each other. In WoW you get in a dungeon and everyone gives a fuck about each other. Its just a small thing, but i like iit
mmos dont really have communities now days. ff11 back in the day, now that was a community
everyone here can still go play GW, EQ, FFXI, AO, etc, not emulated they are still running. but its always the same old shit excuses why you won't, whilst complaining about all the new shit. the good MMORPGs are still there, waiting for you to stop being a fucking whiny bitch and play them.
black desert and archeage are the only things that are really "fantasy" that are running are aren't totally dead or on the way to shutting down. MMOs are dead as shit in the west. Gotta go to korea if you want to play new mmos. PSO2 comes out on pc in may for NA, but that's scifi-ish.
Everything I go into diadem or shout chat - It's been just "hehe our server is SOOOO not toxic like the other servers" "muh dog/muh cat hehehe :)" or other gay normie shit
but you didnt list any good mmos
neverwinter
what's the most fun class? I was expecting necromancer but all I'm doing is spamming that skull toss and staff
>guild wars
dead, entire community is centered around the endgame and the entire leveling experience is a joke with all the items and content they've pushed in to streamline it.
>eq
haven't played it recently, it's probably fine.
>ff11
abyssea, trusts. It's not at all in any way the game people recommended around toau or wings. It's a very different game, much more casual, designed with a solo player in mind.
>AO
archeage? anarchy? Aion? Allods?
Tried to play on a FF11 PS, but have no idea what the fuck to do.
Dungeons and Dragons Online
I've been in a very similar mindset to you recently, user. I've run out of shit to do in FFXIV after clearing the current raid tier and getting all my jobs to Lv80 (DoH/DoL included). And now that Patch 5.3 is being delayed by at least a month due to COVID-19, I too have been looking for other games to play.
I thought about going back to WoW, but BfA really cemented my disdain my nu-Blizzard and their current approach to Retail WoW. And from everything I've seen out of the Shadowlands Alpha, none of my major gripes with the game look to be changed or fixed anytime soon. WoW Classic was fun for a bit when it released, but lost its luster fast once I hit 60.
But yeah, I've hopped around recently to all the other options. GW2 still turns me off for the reasons I listed in my other post. I tried out OSRS, but quickly remembered why I didn't enjoy it back in the day either. I even tried Albion Online, and while it has a lot of interesting concepts, the world design is just so bland and the gameplay too repetitive for me.
However I've recently jumped into EVE Online, and while it's not a Fantasy MMO, it's by far the most fun I've had with one in a long time. The completely player-driven sandbox universe really differentiates it from the PvE themepark worlds of WoW & FFXIV, and the risk of potentially losing hours/days/weeks worth of effort adds a layer of tension to PVP that no other game can emulate. Also, the slower, more methodical gameplay is a nice change of pace. I highly recommend at least trying it for a bit to see if you end up liking it like I did.
You are approaching nearly two decades too late to the MMO party
Which one? Some are really ramped up with custom shit. Nasomi is probably the best middle ground, but it's custom shit is still pretty detrimental, and it's kinda buggy.
which server? i was thinking on giving it a go on Eden, it seems like a pretty old confusing game but probably gets fun once you start understanding it
really? i heard Eden was the best and nasomi was shit since its a custom server saying it isnt filled with custom stuff and that the guy running it is in an eternal powertrip
damn son, thats really hard to come by in an mmo currently, you can maybe choose 3 and you might get what you want.
>Beats a 1 hour quest chain after several months of nothing
You sure you aren't talking about the War Campaign?
