I got a couple plat relics and lotsa gold relics in the trilogy
CTR and the remake are one of the best Kart racers that exist and I grew up with only Nintendo consoles and handhelds, MK8/D is hot garbage compared to it
also played the GBA Crash games

I've played through the first six levels of Crash 2.... twice.

I can finish 2 or 3 in under an hour. Can 100% 3s time trials in an afternoon and have got the dev times on all the original CTR and Nitro Fueled tracks. I discovered several skips/abuses of level geometry in 2 in the early 2000s before there was a speed running scene.

I replay CTR every year or so, 1-3 every few years. Crash Bash was great game.

personally I think that remake 2 >= og 2, idk why you'd say remake 2 is not as good as og 2 at least
with remake 1 there's obvious improvements, and remake 3 is still held back by og 3's shortcomings, then there's stuff like relics in remake 2, I guess they're a non-factor but it's not like the remake is worse because of that, I know that spindash (idk what speedrunner autists call it) bug is kind of fixed in the remake, and I think it's a fair point to put og 2 above remake 2 if you were into being fast

Never played the first one, though.

Dude, the slide spin combo doesn't even work properly on the ground, you slow down as soon as the spins starts and you don't carry momentum from the slide. It's just a much slower game in general, warp room lighting and head animations suck, and the music is empty. It's like a genuine downgrade.

fuck those spinner platform things on the first game. if you dropped off you'd have to spin them all again. eventually you'd figure out you can jump and spin at the right point and set up the next platform in one go rather than two. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN

well I'd say this is subjective, I'll agree with you it's a hit or miss with graphics and music just pales in comparison to og, but it doesn't bother me that much (yes, I'm a shit-eating faglord)
