kingdom hearts is great
only shitters don't like it
Btw, play order is KH1, Re:CoM, KH2, Days, Birth By Sleep, Re:Coded, Dream Drop Distance HD, 2.8 Fragmentary, and then finally Back Cover.
You don't have to play KHux on mobile, by the way, story hasn't affected KH3

KH doesn't start going off the rails until Re:Coded and then goes completely off the rails with Dream Drop Distance. I still love it though.

hey, thanks man

kh1, com, days, and KH2 for a complete quadrology of games. everything after features a very noticeable dip in story quality, but the games can be fun.

kh should've stopped after 2 but its a good game

there's kingdom hearts collection for xbox?

No prob
This was also release order, so it was strange to me The Story So Far/1.5+2.5 didn't lay them out in the correct order

not op but yes they brought Story So Far over which is 1.5+2.5+2.8

i will never ever touch KH1 after i finish it, goddamn it was frustrating.

KH2 i love, its the only one with a story that actually had me invested and the one to pretty much perfect its gameplay formula.

KH3 was just dissapointing, but i still enjoyed my time with it.

And while i'm up to date with the lore, i haven't finished any of the spin-offs, so i really can't say much about those.

It went to shit on kh3

It got nomura'd

KH1 is great, but the ones after it are complete Nomura messes story wise.

just finished KH1 again
I really don't know if I can be arsed with CoM, can I just skip it and go and replay KH2? I never played CoM before at all, but I just played a few hours and the card mechanic is a bit meh

Yes, the collections and 3 are there, they were 60% off a few weeks ago

The game part is fine, it's the story that's the issue. It's needlessly convoluted past KH2 and not even in a way that results in anything good, 358/2 is mostly ok though.

>18.2.2020, Square Enix and Disney introduced nine unforgettable adventures to players on Xbox One for the first time.
i guess it's true, better late than never?

Yep, better later than not at all

it's because Nomura entered into the scripts and made this nonsensical crossover beyond twisted. In order to get the story, you might need to take it as a Netflix series or something.

You might believe that things are simple in KH1 and they are for the game itself but once you see CoM or 358/2,it escalates quickly.

KH1 is a genuinely fantastic ARPG. . The enemy and boss designs are, for the most part, very well-designed, the tech point system is a great risk-vs-reward system that actively encourages you to play outside of your comfort zone and rewards you for doing with so with more EXP, there’s a good amount of customization presented to you in the game, whether it’s Keyblades, accessories, or even the very beginning, in which the choices you make can affect your ability progression system and even dictate how you want your EXP curve to function, thus changing up how you play the game, the level design and environmental interactions actively reward you for exploring every nook and cranny, etc...
All in all, even though I like the other games, it feels like the only one in the series to actively take advantage of the RPG aspect of being an ARPG.

true, just weird to release those after kh3. should have done it before

youtu.be/ilPPtE8T7Z8

It always confused me why they release ''the story so far'' only on PS4 before KH3's release on both platforms

Totally agreed, but what can you do?

This.

>Story So Far over which is 1.5+2.5+2.8
What the fuck, are these game sequels or software versions?

This. KH1 is really something special.

Collections

Just look up how to build a sonic blade deck and cheese your way through the game

How are 2.5 and 2.8 different games and why is 2.8 not just 2.5 with added features/story?

collection sequels with updates

watch out for dream drop
thats when the story really goes bananas
although everything that came out after 2 was a little bonkers already

2.8 has a short story segment about a character in Birth By Sleep that was made in the KH3 engine to sort of serve as a demo
It also has Back Cover, a movie about the mobile game
Finally, it has an HD remaster of Dream Drop Distance

2.5 has KH2 Final Mix, Birth By Sleep Final Mix, and a movie version of Re:Coded
1.5 has KH1 Final Mix, Re: Chain of Memories, and a movie version of 358/2 Days

One is awesome. 2 is good but not great. Haven't played 3 though I'm about to within the next week, will report back once I finish it (probably in the form of a thread, screencap this post).

You're in the good part. Where you don't have Mr.Nomura build-ups fall flat, only to give place to another vague thread that maybe will appear in the next game.
KH 1 and 2 are the best ones.
Chain of Memories is card stuff. Build decks for MAX CHEESE (mash Triangle for easy sleights).
Days is didn't finish it, won't talk shit, but hated it honestly. But since you're playing in the Story so Far, it's just a slideshow for the plot.
Recoded is a fun portable entry, I can recommend it if you want KH on the go..
3D and BBS are fun too, but really off the edge with balance. Mines and Baloons.
3 is wettest fart, buy the DLC dear consumer

As for WHY Nomura has such a retarded naming scheme? No idea.
Reminder that it's pronounced "Kingdom Hearts Three-Five-Eight Days Over Two"

>You don't have to play KHux on mobile, by the way, story hasn't affected KH3
Why you lie so much? KHux is basically the reason why KH3 all it did was beating an old man.

based

>your ability progression system and even dictate how you want your EXP curve to function

Are you talking about which items you take at the beggining, and the questions you answer? I remember it affected early skill points but I didn't know it curbed how you progessed during the game. mind elaborating?

it could've worked
>sora and riku home
>all nobodies have been defeated and returned to sender
>mikey is found
that was the mainley the whole point of their adventures and it was all fixed, the whole 7 lights and 13 darkness plot after seemed a bit much and the fact they needed 3 games to explain xehanort's scheme was pretty out there and of course TIME TRAVEL

Because it's a horrible game that STILL hasn't finished and makes more sense after finishing KH3 first

Yas Forums has a somewhat justifiable excuse for hating KH, and it's because you need to play every game to get the story. A lot of people were upset with how many side games came out for damn near 10 years

Back Cover is all you really need for KH3 though.
