I just beat it. You lied, Yas Forums. You said it was shit. it was good! Who hurt you? I can't imagine being this mad over videogames.
I just beat it. You lied, Yas Forums. You said it was shit. it was good! Who hurt you...
Yas Forums is always full of shit around a major game's release, give it a few months.
if you aren't a paid shill, be prepared to be called one
it's a remake of one of the most highly acclaimed and best-selling games ever, and one that people have been waiting 20+ years for
are you really surprised people are being autistic about it
the complaints about the textures are 1000% valid though, squeenix needs to fix that shit
I absolutely had to avoid Yas Forums for spoiler reasons, but I'm really interested in the multiverse of it. It's brilliant from a business standpoint...FFVII Remake will be a franchise within its own single story, just branching timelines. The game will practically print money.
they're just waiting for the inevitable texture mod from the PC community
OP here, I 100% agree with you about the textures. There's no reason why they're as muddy as they were. I'm anxious to try the PC version out though.
Hello Sony marketing department, put me in the Ręddit screenshot.
yes citizen. please look at your laptop camera and smile.
i don't want to wait a fucking year though
honestly, i hate the "lol this looks like a ps2 game!" meme but some of the worst examples are legitimately that bad this time
the items on vendors' shops' shelves are truly disgusting to look at
Yas Forums and /lit/ share a trait where neither of the posters play games or read books. Almost all the negative outcry was from stream watching faggots who don't even play games. A whole crop of zoomer children raised by daddy pewdiepie who value overreaction over everything else. A game's value is in how much online controversy it can generate because that is the domain in which they operate. Now that the people who actually played the game are finishing up and reporting in we are getting real opinions instead of reaction fag screeching.
I remember seeing one user making a thread about being so happy at seeing the game "inevitably fail" and SE finally seeing Nomura for the "hack" that he truly is. I can't imagine being this mad over videogames...
i've yet to see a single positive comment on the fucking time ghosts, the best i've seen is "it subverted my expectations" which is somehow a inherently good thing
/lit/ poster here, can confirm that basically no one, myself included, reads. I'll burn through a couple of books during a hotstreak once a year maybe for a few weeks and then just stop cold turkey.
You sound like a faggot.
same, beat it last night and it is one of the best games I have played. Had to dodge hate threads on here for the past 3 weeks. y'all are compromised.
Theres a bug currently affecting the textures
Also, whoever skips cutscenes will have bad textures too because they load in cutscenes
This is unironically the worst video game I ever played. It's non-gameplay. It's tedium amplified by 1000. Without a doubt, hands down, no room for argument or discussion, THE worst game that mankind has yet conceived of.
the combat in FF7R is the best FF has ever had tho, full stop
Glad you enjoyed it, user. Welcome to the remake family
This is the same situation as MGS2, lots of people just can't handle change like this. Public opinion will come around eventually tho, just like MGS2.
I did not beat OG FF7. FF7R is not what I wanted or expect. That being said it was still a great game. I wish it was what I expected (A definitive remake of the entire series), but instead I got a sequel. I wish it wasn't good, then I wouldn't be tempted to force myself to play the OG, a game that hasn't aged well despite what you faggots might think.
They're a very interesting mechanism to explain these meta-narrative changes in-universe, I never found them intrusive or stupid, but that said I'm not gonna miss them now that they're all gone
Squenix made a great choice in pulling this shit with the remake, since now nobody has any idea exactly how closely the next games will follow the original. It'll keep the games fresh for even the biggest FF7 fans, and is going to result in a much more interesting series than just following the same story a second time. Kojima said it best: "Disappoint your fans". Sometimes people don't know what they want
It has aged very poorly, especially graphically, but it's still very worth playing. It's a fantastic experience, and I'm speaking as someone who played it for the first time last month.
>80% hallways and cut-scenes.
What a great movi- I mean game.
imagine how much more of a fantastic experience it would have been if it was done like the first 17 chapters of the Remake, minus the time ghost.
The original is even worse in that regard. No, a world map does not suddenly make it non-linear
wow another shill thread with the exact same OP. shocker.
Im glad they at least have the balls.
Some great games really need a remaster, like vagrant story. But ff7 has already been ported to hell and back in every console, we dont need another one. It would have been the biggest cashgrab ever.
>be nomura
>make game with time jannies
>make game to bring in newfags while still nodding to old fanbase
>doing so pisses off time jannies
>time jannies go on Yas Forums and post threads about how they're forced to bitch about corridors when they could be bitching about open world deviating from the OG
>yfw time jannies are real
I'd still rather have this new story than just retreading the same thing with more modern gameplay. The original will always be there, it's not like it's even close to unplayable
curoudo oooh my curoudo
Imagine Vagrant Story with a combat system that wasn't the most tedious shit imaginable. It would legit be the perfect game
That's exactly what it was like in the original. I thought you disliked when the remake changes things.
>THE worst game that mankind has yet conceived of
*blocks your path*
Part of my dislike of this game is just the fact that I'm jealous of protagonists who start off as bitter losers and gradually grow as people and see that people around them really love them since this hasn't happened to me yet.
The other part is things that are legitimately shit though, like losing your MP if you get hit in the middle of casting a spell, your other party members not being autonomous enough to even attack consistently unless you're directing them (better hope they have enough ATB too), and the horribly executed time jannies. Maybe they could have been implemented well, but Nomura ultimately failed in the attempt
The only thing Vagrant story needs is a more quick menu. A game that relies so heavily on crafting, the menu moves painfully slow. Thats all it needs.
Still in awe of the sheer sack that Square has to even dream of pulling this shit. All the had to do was make a normal remake, and they would have been drowning in cash and nobody would complain. Instead, they slaughtered the sacred cow and pissed off a bunch of people. It's definitely the better decision from an artistic standpoint, but holy fuck are they insane
