nothing
mechanicalfags just like that clicky clack

Cheap and too hard to press for most games and absolutely awful for typing.

One you clack you never go back.

The aggressive clacking is how I intimidate any lesser typists unfortunate enough to be in the room with me.

You can't hold down both shift keys and type "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" without losing some characters.

>too hard to press

i can do that just fine with my decade old gen1 G15

for me, it's chiclet

They're actually better for games like quake.

Hows CHEAP something wrong about keyboards? So rising the price makes the kb better?

In my experience, rubber domes have a bad typing feel and questionable durability, having a nasty habit of developing ”problem keys” where you can’t be sure whether your press goes through or not. Had those on multiple rubber dome keyboards back in the day, and god it is annoying when typing, for example when a number key starts acting up and you always have to fucking double check every time you are typing any combination of numbers featuring the one with faulty key.

Yeah, I’m sure that someone is already going to say that ”hasn’t happened to me”, and yeah, I know that I’ve probably had shit luck with them. All I know is that I don’t want another keyboard where I can’t be sure whether presses actually go through or not.

I like the incredible sensitivity of mechanical keyboards otherwise there's nothing wrong with RD's. Cheap ones may have a sticky key release.

consoomers think expensive = better

considering mechfags literally spend $400 on glorified rubber dome keyboards while also shitting on rubber dome keyboards yes they probably do think that

There's nothing particularly wrong with them, the keys might be too mushy, the only reason I bought a mech is because I want comfort and I noticed with my Logitech membrane is that if I pressed Shift + W + space + F or G the keys wouldn't register properly, mech are always No-key-rollover, so you can press all keys at once.

Redragon makes $40 mechanical keyboard that feel and function the same exact way as the $200 ones and they even come with Double-shot injection keycaps which means they will never fade. These days there's no excuse to not own a mechanical keyboard considering all the comfort and precision they offer.

I just unironically prefer membrane to the switches I've tried for now
If you find me something that's cheap enough, full size, can take low profile flat keycaps, has switches with little to no tactile feedback and no bump (or just a small one at the top) I'll consider it

>too hard to press
do you need one of these too?

>precision
you hit the button and it does the thing
mechanical is a noisy meme

>get memed into mechanical keyboards
>spend $100 on a ducky
>less than a year later and 9+ of the backlights have gone out
I've got nobody to blame but myself but this is seriously the last time I take advice from anyone on this godforsaken website.

There are mechs and non-mechs with or without N-key rollover equally. It's not a huge problem because games are designed around the common limitations of keyboards anyway.

dangerously based

>mech are always No-key-rollover
>No-key
It's N-key, and you're wrong.

cheap they wear out fast as fuck typing on them blows

THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG

>precision
clickfags are actually fucking retarded

buckling spring are the only keys which don't exacerbate carpal tunnel

Nothing really. I just like the tactility of blues. Reds are fucking aids for anything other than gaming though.

when will you ever need to hold two shift keys

This. I used to have a lot of trouble holding down both shift keys and typing "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" without losing some characters, but now that I have a mechanical keyboard I have absolutely no problem holding down both shift keys and typing "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" without losing some characters. Major life improvement!

Noisy mechanical is only the blue switches, which are the most common because it's the complete switch. Brown is just tactile but it's a little small bump that's almost unnoticeable and red are linear, there's no noise whatsoever for both red and browns.
And if you go the Do-it-yourself route or buy a board that's hotswappable, then you have dozens of different colored types of switches to use. There's Kailh BOX Royal for example that's highly tactile and doesn't have clicky noises. There's Kailh BOX white that uses a clickbar, noisy and feels like the push button of a pen. There's Holy Pandas which are sort of a meme but extremely tactile.
Mechanical switches can feel like any type of button you want, from industrial buttons all the way to a push button pen or a console controller (black switches).

Wew look at all these people who have never typed from 9 to 5 in their entire life.
Also topre is the superior switch niggers

I had a mechanical keyboard for a while

it was so fucking loud and obnoxious

been using a $20 quiet bluetooth keyboard ever since and haven't had any problems with it

It's impossible for mechanical keyboards to not be N-key rollover because of the way they're engineered. If they one, it's a bios limitation that can be switched on and off.

QUIC BRO FOX UD OVR LAZY RD DOG
logitech K120 be like that

I cannot imagine a faggier type of autism than keyboard button autism, even audiophiles are at least a bit more sensible.
You're pressing a button, it's a binary action. There's literally nothing more to it.

>haha it's just a watch bro it only tells time xD
>it's just a car dude it's from point A to point B
stop being poor
