Which was the better generation? PS4 seems much worse. I feel as though I spent most of the last generation waiting for the games that would supposedly make the gen special. None of the hyped up AAA games offered that feeling.

last gen was better, i think, even if it took longer to get good
PS3 gen was better, devs were barely taking risks, but they still did at times. This gen was nothing but reboots and remakes. Sony focused too much on big games and killed half their devs, Microsoft went to shit, Nintendo started out awful then restarted halfway in and did good, third parties went to shit, indie games weren’t as memorable, and Valve hasn’t released shit.
Terrible gen, hopefully next gen is better
PS3 took a while to have a lot of good games, but it got fairly good eventually. Not PSX or PS2 good, but still. I've barely bought anything for my PS4.
I still don't get why PS4 sold so much when it was such a dull system that brought nothing new to the table, and I'm not even talking about the games. I mean, one of the reasons the PS2 sold so much is that it made DVD players available to many people, same goes for the PS3 with Bluerays.
PS4 didn't do that and the PS5 will be the same, but I'm sure blind loyalty will ensure that Sony still sell systems despite clearly having the considerably weaker console this time around.
PS3 had better more varied games
PS4 gen way better, more games, way more variety in basically every genre from fighting games to Jrpg's. Last gen was a major drag and easily my most disliked gen so far. It was a fucking trash sea of boring brown shooters left and right.
both have Persona 5, PlayStation wins.
>but I'm sure blind loyalty will ensure that Sony still sell systems despite clearly having the considerably weaker console this time around.
Since when has that ever mattered to people who aren't console warriors? Most of the systems that "won" in the past haven't been the most powerful. Look at the PS2 vs the GC and Xbox. It's the games or mass appeal that matters in the end. That said, I'm not defending Sony, I'm not interested in specific systems because of the companies behind them, I just go where the interesting games are, and most I play on PC.
>Which was the better generation?
For Sony? The PS4 has some genuinely entertaining games, some. I can't say the same for the PS3 though. I think the only PS3 games I actually liked was MGS4 and 3Dot game heroes. They weren't' worth the price of the console though. The thing is a doorstop unless you used it to play PS1 games.
All the people saying
>the PS3 eventually got good games
are referring to games on every other platform. The PS3 library itself was pretty god damned shit. The PS4 isn't as good as the PS2, but it's a lot better than the PS3.
