>FFVI has more soul than FFX.
FFX is about a soccer player with daddy issues, so obviously most other games have more soul.

Once you reach 4, or 5 depending on a person's taste. Every older FF has more soul than the one that came after it.

Which version of 6 should I play? Never played it before.

Steam if you don't mind the "updated" look. GBA with a music patch if you'd rather have the better looking sprites.

What's wrong with the GBA music?

How did Sephiroth's theme manage to impact millions of lives while Kefka's seemingly fell into obscurity?

Some people complain about it but with the exception of a few tracks it I don't think it's as terrible as people make it out to be.
Still, it only takes a small bit of effort to make an improvement to the game.

I would argue the Steam version with the World Reborn mod is worth considering.
You'll still have the horrible mobile UI but it replaces all the sprites, background, and monsters with the original graphics.

I think I might just go with the GBA version since I can emulate it for free

Stick to GBA, there is a patch for the music and colors for it as well.

Avoid Steam / mobile as they ruin all the character graphics and make it look like a cheap RPG Maker game

Every memorable theme needs to have a simple base. Kefkas theme is as chaotic as the man/god himself. Sephiroths is easy to remember at least partially and clings to your brain.

vased

He wasn't in Kingdom Hearts and other Media. It's easier to remember a theme that plays in more places, than just it's own game.

Alright, I'll get both of those.
What's the issue with the colors?

That's not true, people still remember Decisive Battle from FFX.

youtube.com/watch?v=VTxqsTfDgC4

Which comparatively is much more textured and complex than FFVI's harmonic scale.

>soul
overrated concept. My dream project would be making subliminal satanic propaganda that brainwashes children.

Then you're into the Legend of Zelda?

Nvm, I see what the issue is

Uh who are those people exactly?

In the album art? That's Yuna and Sin.

Kefka Palazzo is a soldier working for Gesthal. He goes insane about 1/4th of the game through.

Sephiroth is a former member of Soldier borne from an experiment who goes mad when he learns about his birth.

Dancing Mad is a fucking masterpiece and Uematsu himself said he used everything he had learned to create it, he just kept going and that’s why it’s 14+ minutes long.

Sounds and is more soulful than any other FF protagonist. Tidus has by far the most personality and character development of all FF protagonists.

It really feels like he put some of his actual blood into the work. It just comes out so vigorous and emphatic.

Who's the artist who draws all the hyper feminine circus looking shit? I think he did the designs for Dissidia?

No you say people remember Decisive Battle i've never heard anyone refer to this OST so a bit confused.

VI’s Decisive Battle is so much more memorable than any of the crap from X. I don’t think there’s even a single FF that’s worse than X. Even XV.

Decisive Battle is the name of the final theme used in Yevon's battle.

Amano has done the concept art for the entire series. I don’t know why I’m answering when you refer to it as “circus” art from Dissidia.

Yoshitaka Amano?

It looks inspired by circus brother that's just aesthetics not a dig

Not to be a dick to Yas Forums but if your friends hum complex multi-layered theme songs after one listen they may be autists.

VI was a project made by a small team of passionate creators and artists.

X was a product produced by a massive team of technicians for the sole purpose of making as much money as possible.l

Humming a song and fiddling with it on the piano are not the same thing now?

What do you call catchy?

>soul is this generation's visceral

That's true, they still talk about Spyro's edgy moments with "soulful," recommendation.

you're dumb

I don’t like the namefag either but you sound like you just hopped on here after having your high school suspend classes for your coronacation.

The original discussion i had was why one theme song impactyed millions while the other fell into obscurity. The simple answer is that you need a simple base for a theme song to be catchy. A complex theme song/ost will never catch on with the general populace.

Usually i'm joking with the autist stuff but that one was serious.

But I'm telling you some of Michael Jackson's most famous music is ultra-complex.

Simple is a bad word, I wouldn't say simple... but then again it could be just a breakdown in communication.

SNES with the woolsey uncensored patch.

I was at this and it was pretty cool

Name one, just one FF protagonist with more personality. Tidus has actual monologues, he is the most transparent FF character. He was assertive enough to kiss Yuna, he got over his daddy issues. He was a fucking fictional character, ripped from a dream and pushed into some nightmare and he still was genuinely optimistic and didn't complain. He literally accepted his existence fading away since it was not even real with a high five with his father.

Literally fuck off. There was never a FF protagonist even with half as much personality and character development.

IX is peak final fantasy.

I think Serah got fleshed out a little.

Ramza too...

>Name one, just one FF protagonist with more personality.
Zidane.
That was easy.

Nigger I don't remember the FFX Decisive battle music and I learned the piano collections version a few years ago. Literally had it memorized.
Also
>people still remember
>>Uh who are those people exactly?
>In the album art? That's Yuna and Sin.
You're legitimately retarded

Turn off the name.
have this though. Decisive is in it somewhere. youtu.be/UGGK61vyxwA

Based. Trannies stay seething about Tidus lmao

Ramza went from being a lowly commoner with noble blood to waging a full and open war on the senate, the church and subsequently the demons of the Zodiac. He was always treated second best to his siblings who were true nobles, true citizens with no common blood. In terms of Final Fantasy protagonists, he took on his entire country of Ivalice, and then the stars, all because no one would recognize his heritage.

>I don’t think there’s even a single FF that’s worse than X. Even XV.

Let's not start saying things we can't take back now

every protag since 4 has been given an arc, and tidus is no exception. his characterization is rather anemic because the focus of the game is of course yuna. your blind fanboyism for the character has blinded you. in term of FF protagonists Cloud is a much more complicated character, and the majority of the plot of FF7 is spent as a character study on Cloud. tidus begins the game as an optimistic guy who would do anything for yuna and ends the game the same way, there's barely an arc there, arguably none. cloud begins the game as a over-confident chad, but this is just a facade propped up by his fucked up brain. you learn his history and he overcomes actual mental and physical trauma to grow into a leader, the majority of the plot of the game is concerned with him figuring out who he is. tidus is just some douche in jorts man.

Show me where Zidane literally made a retard out of himself in front of the girl he liked just to make her feel better

It's fucking GBA, what do you think?
