Just to post a few that come to mind.
Artists are never the best critics of their own work. Uematsu has an awful trend of writing "jingles" and calling them compositions. Some of his work his great, but IX is his worst example of "I wrote a 10 second loop that lasts for 20 minutes".

I haven't played Tactics and wouldn't put a game in unless I felt it was fair, and I can't give a fair opinion if I haven't beaten it so I had a chance to feel the music at the intended moment. Listening to the songs on youtube won't get the same feeling.

The last expansion alone was near entirely original themes and as a standalone probably one of my favorite FF soundtracks. And that's not to say the previous expansions were poor in comparison, no they're all really good
Soken is by far one of if not the greatest assets Square currently has. They better fight tooth and nail to hold on to him if they know what's good for them
