Why is nobody talking about this game?

That's irrelevant since Cyberpunk has much more funding and promos behind it. Nobody expected fucking VTMB2 to steal Cyberpunk's spotlight at this point, even if it was as we wanted.

Besides, VTMB2 already has a niche cult-like audience waiting for it.

Because of a paradigm shift regarding vampires in media under the lens of woke culture. Originally the fun about roleplaying as vampires or indulging in related fantasies, outside of the vagaries of immortality, was all about embracing being vile, engaging in depravity, justifying murder and brutality under the pretence of a higher existence, etc. but since mankind IRL is already doing all of that (and worse), and screeching and wailing whenever anyone tries to chastise such behaviour, then the point of this game becomes moot and boring.

"Vampire goth subculture" is a counter-culture, but it can't remain so if the culture they're trying to counter already looks exactly the same. So all the writing in this game is going to be extremely lame and pretension, trying to justify every single "evil" action under the umbrella of "fight the (minority white) power" because apparently modern writers can or will only write about things that parallel current-year political ideologies.

This shit exactly. Shit like Twilight and Interview With a Vampire just basically turned vampires into "good looking goth people" and that's where the appeal is now.

I would dare say its because most modern writers haven't actually gone out into the world to meet real fucking people. They meet everyone through the lens of education and never meet the bizarre people of the real world.

If by surprised you mean relieved, then yes.

What gameplay they've shown looked like garbage, they delayed the game, and haven't really shown anything else since. So there's basically just anti-hype at this point.

Also every thread I've seen for this game gets ruined by some Yas Forumstard who's obsessed with calling people trannies, spams the thread with the same "sjw collages" about the table top game, and just samefags for like 400 replies. It's utterly insane.

My biggest disappointment is the game now allowing you to use all three thinblood disciplines for transversal, destroying the incentive to pick a different discipline in different playthroughs.
