Fallout 4

What are some small essential improvements you lads would do to make it better?
Is it even possible to salvage this garbage through modding?

yeah there are lots of cool mods. can't remember any of them though

Ignore the story. I had fun playing on survival with some mod that gave everything reduced health (player and npcs) and made shots to the head/chest much more lethal. Made the game feel more like a scavenging survival game.
Just run around and kill/loot shit.

Just hire someone to write decent story and dialogues. I don't get why Bethesda games are so utterly bad at this.

I'm asking for mod ideas, i'd like to try make a mod myself.

I would bring back the glorious rpg mechanics found in NV and before. Should be mods that do that.

>small
>essential
Fallout 4 is fundamentally shit. No combined amount of small essential improvements can fix it

nope play 76 instead

Fallout 4 is great and you'd probably just end up shitting it up.

I agree, it's a lot of work, but i'm sure you can edit the dialog to include skill and special checks

Is there a mod to make bandits raid your bases more often?

Think there is, i have never used any though. That should be tweaked too, its a vanilla feature that's broken.

if you want better dialogue options and a better story play 76 instead

make it free to play and i will

oh then BIG TITS BUT ON ROBOTS

its literally £10 on cdkeys stop being a poorfag

Scrap the entire game, get a better engine, make the gameplay not a clunky mess, write a good story, build a good dialogue system, retain the feeling of desolation from Fallout 1, but keep the power armor system from Fallout 4 because I kind of like it.

Prefer singleplayer, simple as.

big tits on people, robots and deathclaws

Not make it Fallout 3 with a stolen community mod for crafting.

It's not about the money, i'm not boosting todds ego after that failure.

coomers out

if a game continues to get updates its definitely not a failure it ensures todd money in some way

- Remove pipe weapons
- Add bows/crossbows
- Dual wielding for the hell of it
- Shields
- Redesign some of the weapons/armor
- Redesign Diamond City
- Add more settlements (actual built settlements, not the build-your-own shit)
- The story and some side content cannot be saved
- A better perk system for builds
- Better unique weapons/armor with more interesting bonuses

At what cost?
He lost customers and tarnished his company's reputation

Make leveling not boring and suck

>Redesign Diamond City
That should be relatively easy, not much scripting to do

The only problem is that there no worthwhile loot with a guaranteed spawn. The two shot rifle u can buy in the vault is too easy to get, so you get it early and it’s hard to find a legendary that’s better so u have no motivation to clear dungeons. If that game had unique variants like f3 and nv you’d have somewhere to go to start out your build.
If fallout had a combat system like tarkov I would dump all my free time in it for years.

>We wanted it to be a lively, bustling place that blended the best qualities of Megaton and Rivet city
They did neither

I think a big improvement would be to give the guards actual armor and weapons, as the whole baseball theme is fucking retarded. Minutemen should have been given hunting rifles instead of laser muskets (make the musket unique instead). Goodneighbor was alright, but maybe throw a few armored people/ghouls outside to make it feel like they were protecting their town.

Depends on what you want out of it. I highly recommend Start Me Up because the start choices and dialogue changes facilitate a more enjoyable experience by disconnecting the player character from the retarded plot, allowing you to enjoy the game more broadly while also fixing some of the downright awful dialogue in many story missions.

Otherwise? Sim Settlements allows you to build functional settlements without nearly as much investment if you're into that. Gameplay tweaks are a grab bag. Just make sure shit doesn't conflict. The gunplay is okay in the base game, so not a lot of changes are necessary, but difficulty mods can help liven the game up.

It didn't take much to transform FO4 into S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Lite for me and I prefer it that way. Full grimdark shader settings and shit, brutal combat, more customization options for weapons and armor, more ammo types, etc.

There's some vital bugfix mods (fucking Boston lag issues have to be addressed with any kind of heavy modding), but the game is mostly stable if only doing basic stuff.

FROST seems neat but I never really tried it, mostly what you're aiming for with FO4 mods is flavor stuff though, like guns and armor. The exploration/scavenging part of the game is perfectly fine when it's not Bethesda'ing, the story and quests are largely shit though, so quest mods might be a good place to start as well. Area improvements are another plus but they fuck up some quests from the vanilla game sometimes to read into that.

Mods only make for nice screenshots.

If you actually care about a decent story and interesting characters the answer is no.
