I don't hate the ending. But I was hoping to get get to experience the original FF7 story through this remake. It's clear that's going to happen, and I worry that the original plot points will be required to know going forward if you want the best experience.
I expected to get the full, definitive, ff7 experience from this remake, instead what I'm going to get is another spin off (though granted, a quality one) that is going to force me to play the old as fuck ps1 game to enjoy to it's fullest.
Nah. The ending of Wild Arms 5 wasn't spoiled for me but it was still enough to royally piss me off and ruined the whole thing for me. I'll likely never replay it.
I didn't mind the ending for the most part, but I did hate that they forced that Sephiroth fight in the very end. I get it, he's one of the most popular vidya characters ever, but can't they really do anything without his involvement? Don't tell me you have to fight him at the end of every single part? It just turns the villain from an intimidating threat to a pest that just won't die no matter how many times you stomp him. I didn't like how they're pushing him as some kind of Cloud's homo soul mate either. I'm very tolerant in general, but this is getting too absurd for me too.

It wasn't even nomura though, it was the entire team that wanted to put in the time jannies, same shit with KH3 bringing back roxas, axel and xion. The team wanted them to have a happy ending.
Sephiroth from Advent Children/Kingdom Hearts becomes a time traveller and returns to the past and for some reason Aeris also knows what happens in the future. Because of these things, weird black ghosts appear and fuck up the remake, and Sephiroth stalks and molests Cloud throughout the events(that are now censorsed, adjusted, or removed) of Midgar.
The finale has you enter another dimension to kill Destiny and you fight Sephiroth, Advent Children style. It's cringe as fuck.

I actually didnt have any information before playing this game since I got my copy early due to coronavirus. I didnt hate the ending but I also didnt like it. I just think that seeing and fighting sephiroth this early in the game ruins alot of the suspension that was in the original. Especially the final scene where they copied the very last fight of the original is completely unnecessary and ruins one of the most satisfying victories ever. I don't even know how they're continuing FF7R from here.
