I have that. Getting a ryzen 3700x. Hope it's just as good.

this
op is a filthy corelet

>Not the 3570k

Intel fucked up good with that chip. That's why every chip they released after had such small performance gains.

grandpa that thing is trash now. you can get something better for like $100

Was dethroned by the 3600 OP. You have to stop living in the past.

Attached: 1571280733863.jpg (1024x1004, 59.51K)

3600 might be good value now but i don't expect it to stay relevant for even half the time the 2500 did.

My nigga!

Still have mine going strong 8 years later.

What a fucking beast of a CPU. Honorable mention to the Phenom 965 as well. I had a build with that chip for a long, long time.

Well yeah, that's because AMD is actually pushing innovation and Intel will be able to answer once they get their manufacturing back up to speed. It's just great to finally expect meaningful changes instead the same skylake derivative.

...

4.5 ghz crew checking in

Ive been using an i5-4670k since 2013 and have no interest in upgrading any time soon.

It had a great run but it really is outdated these days. It was bottlenecking me pretty hard last year so I went ahead and upgraded to a 9600k.

2500k and 3570k were great but i got a shitty 2500k that didn't clock nearly as well as most of them did

Well no shit, if AMD really manages to go 5nm by 2022 then intel will drop dead.

...of stuttering and CPU bottlenecks

My point was that the value you got buying a 2500K was insane and the 3600 isn't going to touch that.

>poorfags still justifying obsolete hardware

>second gen

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

1600af shits on it in every direction

intel q6600 was pretty amazing as well
(not the newer 6600 but the one that came out 15y ago)
Mine clocked really well

>use 2500K for years
>pretty good
>mfw I upraded to a Threadripper 3960X, 4.2Ghz Core Clock, 1900Mhz Infinity Fabric Clock, 3800Mhz 14-16-16-32 timed ram

AH FUCK IT'S TOOO FAST
TOO MANY FUCKIN CORES
DRAWING 485 FUCKIN WATTS OF POWER FROM THE WALL

Attached: 1580856149044.jpg (281x213, 13.23K)

you're right - the 2600 and the 1600AF already rolled in terms of value for money

Because it's a CPU from the beginning of a very stagnant period and we're finally moving forward. Sure, whoever bought it back then ended up with a great deal, but it was caused purely by Intel being faggots as usual and AMD sniffing glue for years. 2500k isn't some miracle tech.

damn good CPU. I upgraded last summer to a 3700x, but honestly I could've pushed more life out of the 2500k if I really wanted too. Will probably never again be another CPU good enough to last 9 years like that.

>Intel

should we tell him?

Thanks for conceding the only point I was trying to make i guess.

It served me extremely well, but it's time to let it go. I upgraded to a 3700X last year, and there's definitely a difference, even in games.

When are the new graphics cards coming up anyway? I'm still on a GTX970, and it's starting to show its age

Time to update to 2600k?

Attached: 001.jpg (879x665, 328.73K)

I could play TW:3K on this but Bannerlord forced me to upgrade last month

>Couldn't afford a 2500k when it was the standard in gaming pc's
>Noticed the computers in the school libraries had i5's in them
>Grab a Core 2 Duo and some thermal paste that was lying around unused in the comp sci workshop
>Snuck into the library when nobody was there and swapped an i5 for the duo with the speed of a dozen niggers
>Used the i5 2400 I stole until last year when I upgraded to a cheap i7 4770 I bought last year on ebay
Such is the life of a poorfag nigger

Sandy bridge owners conveniently forget that we already had 6 core 12 thread processors on the previous generation.

Clever. No one probably even noticed.

you need a i5 2500k overclocked to 4.8ghz (125+ W TDP) to match a stock 2600 (65W TDP) in single core speeds.

you are aware that pretty much any of the first gen ryzen will outperform that cpu right ? they are also dirt cheap

>2500k socket lga 1155
>core 2 duo socket lga 775

oh

2500k 960gtx and 8 gigs of ram power=machine that can play any game at 1080p

It stopped being good enough around 2017-18. It was fucking stupemdously good for its price and lasted longer than it had any right to however.

*at medium settings

Still kicking, waiting for my Ryzen 3950x now since the mobo started to kill GPU's. It had a good run. Never had the same basic configuration for so long. 9 fucking years. Only switched the GPU once to a 770 GTX 4GB.
Thanks consoles I guess lol.

still better than consoles

Cheap Ryzens will be obsolete the moment the Xbox SeX hit's the market with its 8c16c supercharged power.

2500k is unplayable in RPCS3. No TSX support and only 4 threads

You're not wrong. Used both that and the one in the OP for about 5 years and 7 years respectively. Still getting mileage out of the 2500k in an emulation machine for my Arcade1up cabinet. These processors were built to last.

>School library
>PCs had i5 2400
zoomer

I use an i3 8100 that came in my refurbished office desktop.
4c4t, no overclocking
Runs great, I'll just upgrade it to an i7 later if I need more.

Attached: 1587159458961.jpg (994x614, 96.41K)

It was actually a pentium dual core processor now that I remember. I got it mixed up with a core 2 duo that I also stole like a shameless nigger.

notice i said games

my dvd drive still works fine

Exactly what I have

Only game I've had issues with is Doom 2016, doubt I'll be able to play Eternal

>tfw first time I built a PC on my own
>upgraded to a 3700X from an i5 6600k
This shit is so good, runs like 20 degrees hotter though. I have a good feeling about this little guy.
some nigger broke into my basement and stole that i5 along with the board and ram though, god I fucking hate this country.
Literally all I have left from the boxes that the new parts came in is a ryzen 7 sticker and a user manual for the board. I think my warranty is already void after just 2 weeks in.

>Grab a newer gen GPU
>CPU is still enough to not cause major bottleneck
>Still outperforms current gen consoles.
No they won't. I've been through this more than a few times now.

Attached: 10820.jpg (633x640, 50.58K)

eternal runs better than 2016, i played it on high settings around 55fps

Anything that uses more than 4 threads is a stutter fest. That includes games. Sitting at 100% utilization with a single game open is not good.

send me your pc and I'll take a look
