Just finished this on ultra violence can we discuss? Where do you think the expansions/sequel will go? who was the mysterious voice in heaven. I hope that Samuel isn't a seraphim, I liked that he was just a human
Overall I really enjoyed more than 2016 main complaint was the marauders they were just a wall that broke the pacing, slayer gates could be better paced as well
>Where do you think the expansions/sequel will go More of Hell, more of Urdak, probably a little bit of Earth as well >who was the mysterious voice in heaven Probably the Hell Lord who was upset you killed his prime business partner >I hope that Samuel isn't a seraphim, I liked that he was just a human So did I but seems like they're headed that way
Brayden Morgan
I hope they do purgatory, why the fuck not really. And I don't get how he can be seraphim when in 2016 it said he was born got cancer etc
Sebastian Cook
Hey. You know how they said that the Doom Slayer is a universal inevitability? And that this might be an alternate Earth? Think about that for a bit
Christopher Nguyen
>Sequel Can go anywhere, hopefully they'll take a long time before they make it though. Enough time to make it fresh while still feeling new. My prediction is you'd face the Dark Lord or potentially the Father. >Voice in heaven Lore pages say some stuff about a mysterious being called the Father. He disappeared but left a method of communication with him behind, Voice of the Father, which also mysteriously disappeared. It's implied Vega is at least connected to the Voice. >Hayden They pretty much confirmed he was a human, though that was before his robotic upgrade, so they may flip it on its head so he turns into one or something. Either way, love me my Lance Henriksen.
Michael Wright
just seems like there was no indication whatsoever of him being the seraphim in 2016

I just finished Nightmare after my initial UV playthrough and these things are the most terrible shit about the whole game. That one fight against a whiplash and marauder is the most annoying fight I've had in any video game, ever. What a fucking terrible due of enemies.
Fucking thank you. Everyone bitching about marauders but I hate these guys with a passion.
Jack Myers
maybe if we're lucky they'll make new weapon skins personally i'd like to see all the doom 2016 weapons ported over as skins
Chase Wood
What is the seraphim? I keep seeing people mention it but I don't remember that being mentioned in the game at all. Was it in one of those lore pages you collect?
Nathaniel Parker
I can't bring myself to try nightmare, just thinking of the slayer gates alone
Justin Roberts
There was a little bit. The fact that he knew so much about the Night Sentinels and Argent energy. The fact that his office had Sentinel paraphernalia.
Lucas Hall
absolutely the most cancer enemy, the teleporting imp is another one that should be deleted from the game. pinkys are assholes too after those come slayer hunter and marauder.
Leo Harris
He's the dude that levels up doomguy into doom slayer, he's mentioned in 2016 as well I just assumed he got it from the expedition along with doomguys tomb, would have to look at his office again
Mason Gomez
The marauder just has a set of rules you have to follow in order to win. You learn the rules, he becomes easy enough to handle. The Whiplash's ground attack singlehandedly ruins the enemy for me. >is a ground attack >can't be avoided by jumping >tracks you so can't be avoided by dashing >staggers you opening you up for more damage Basically the only strategy against them is to stay away and deal damage from a distance which is impossible when the game spawns them right next to you or in a closed, tight space like the Nekravol fight against it and the marauder. Cathing just ONE of those ground attacks is basically death on Nightmare. Honestly some parts of the normal singleplayer were a lot more trouble for me than the slayer gates. Certain fights in closed spaces like the aforementioned whiplash + marauder fight and some of the blood totem rooms are the hardest points in the game, and not in a good way. I honestly enjoyed my UV playthrough more than Nightmare because Nightmare brings some of the game's problems to the surface whereas UV was fairly challenging but felt satisfying all the way through. For some reason dying 3 times and then completing a fight on the 4th attempt on Nightmare feels a lot less satisfying than barely beating the same fight on the first try on UV. Managing to beat it because you know the spawn points feels like cheesing it.
Jordan Nelson
>Honestly some parts of the normal singleplayer were a lot more trouble for me than the slayer gates. Yeah agreed, which is why thinking of the slayer gates alone is bad enough. What are the problems that come to the surface?
Ryan Roberts
Anyone else feel next game is gonna have some cult devoted to the Slayer? At the end of Eternal it is noted that some were starting to see him as a God.
Aaron James
The main thing that I dislike about Nightmare is how the early levels are more challenging than the late ones due to a lack of upgrades. Cultist Base is actually the peak in terms of difficulty on nightmare and from that point the game gets progressively easier, and you lose the sense that things are ramping up and the tensions rising. On UV the late levels feel harder than the early levels despite the upgrades which I liked more than the biggest hurdle being the third level.
Also, due to how the AI system works on different difficulty modes, Nightmare makes it much easier for the enemies to catch you in a staggered state that's impossible to get away from. Basically you get stun locked and it's done. The AI is allowed to attack more often the higher the difficulty, and this becomes a problem on Nightmare. Again, every fight is easy to cheese after you've died 5 times on it and know the spawn points by heart, but that's not my idea of difficulty.

>implying the cancer in his brain wasnt samur maykr assuming direct control
My head canon is that he wasn’t born but “cast out” to live among mortals. His backstory is probably fabricated for UAC files. I suspect he was cast out and made to live as a young adult. Or possibly to go in line with his backstory, his soul was cast out and he was coincidentally birthed as sam hayden but retained all his knowledge of who he was as seraphim.
Ian Barnes
what are you gonna do about it tranny?
Elijah Martinez
turns out I got a key for this game on bethsda net, anyway to add it to steam?
sequel should have the following >add non-linearity to the level/world design >removes abstract skill trees/upgrades entirely >removes all speech/writings/npcs/story/lore entirely >add a big tiddie cel-shaded/sprite anime Succubus >adds quality one-on-one boss fights without the trash mobs ideally one at the end of each map (if From Software can do it, so can the fags at id) it will exceed the og Doom
I think a big part of it is that you're also forced to git gud as you progress. My first game completion on UV was a lot tougher than my first playthrough on nightmare. Arenas and slayer gates that absolutely stomped me on UV were a breeze on nightmare. After I finished my nightmare run, I did an extra lives run on UV and ended with 40 lives. UV feels like easy mode now. Also, you can't get stun locked if your constantly flying around. That being said, the number of times I got fucking juggled into a corner by whiplashes would make me hate them if it wasnt for the fact that they're otherwise incredibly fun to fight.
