Yeah, occasionally replay games like Shadow of Rome, DMC1, Ace Combat series, etc.
>top 5 must play
boy youtube really ruined zoomers

/vr/ doesn't allow sixth generation threads

Why should he play Persona 4 when the best version is on Vita?

Silent Hill 2 and Ico in addition to some of what's already been said

What's the best way to go about playing classic PS1 era series like RE and Silent Hill? Buying a PS2 and tracking down original discs? Or should I buy a PS3 instead?

Is there anything to play online on it?

No, my PS2 died when a lightning hit my house, it was the only thing that died and even my PC at the time survived, now I just emulate it if I want to play games

Yep, I boot up dragon sisters and onechanbara special every now and then with the occasional edf 2 and bouncer survival runs

How about downloading a free emulator

blood will tell
onimusha
yakuza
castlevania lament of innocence
dark cloud

havent in over 10 years but i recently realized i absolutely can after my PS3 with bc died so i will. hidden classics here i come!

>dark cloud
I found this one really boring. Hated getting thirsty in the middle of a dungeon

Fuck I wish my slim could still read discs

>ape escape 3
my african brother from another mother

>shadow of rome
>maximo ghosts to glory
>maximo army of zin
>dmc 3 special edition
>ratchet and clank 1-3 + deadlocked
>jak and daxter 1-3
>sly cooper 1-3
and enjoy the kino

is the ps2 backwards compatible? never tried it on my slim.
as for the ps3 the older fat models can play most games but there are some games that won't run on it unless you have a test system

Because vita emulation is still shit

I thought we were all used to being thirsty?

Twisted Metal: Black
Midnight Club
Midnight Club 3
San Andreas
Kingdom Hearts

No, I tried last week but it wouldn't read the disk. Screen got stuck on that menu as if you didn't have a disk inserted. Tried with a few games and none worked.

Any of you niggas played the Maximo games?

Yes. It was one of its greatest strengths.

The PS3 emulator is not that great, though it is convenient for doing 4 player in games like Crash Bash. For single player, the best setup is

>BeetlePSX on a fast PC with run-ahead, a slightly older GPU that supports VGA, and CRT PC monitor properly configured
=
The same but with a variable refresh rate monitor instead of the old video setup
>
Fat or early slim PS2 with component or RGB cables and a CRT TV
>
PS1, RGB or S-video and CRT TV
>
Mednafen PC emulator
>
PSP or Vita
>
PS3 with 1080p monitor
>
Ancient PC emulator like epsxe or pcsx

PS1 classic, do not bother with it

I remember being able to play Crash Bash on my ps2 but not being able to save my game. Don't remember if I had a ps1 or ps2 memory card inserted at the time though of it that mattered.

Yeah. It's pretty much the only way I play all the older Silent Hill games.

No point in playing Persoba 4 after knowing akachi is The killer

Which should I play Yas Forums?

>when the shitty Marie version is on vita
The only good change in golden is skill inheritance not being rng

You need a PS1 memory card to save PS1 games on PS2. The PS1 game just does not have the software to access PS2 memory cards. You can actually back up the PS1 saves to a larger PS2 card or hard drive if you want.

>PS1 classics
If you want to use Playstation hardware, you can use pirated discs with a modchip or the swap trick. PS2 has either modchips or, with the highly recommended FreeMCBoot softmod, you can play patched burned PS2 discs and there is a utility that makes the swap trick safer to do for PS1 games. There might be a hard drive/usb loader option too, idk. PS3, PSP, and Vita can use custom firmware.
