Idk it would be neat to make like a competing franchise with humans. I think animals have kind of useful archetypes to work around when making hundreds of characters. I feel like them being animals is almost a way to put a thin segregation between you and them like you can't be an animal either. I really don't think they ment anything serious by it when they started making the games. But you can't help but notice how superior the humans are in the scheme of the game. I can't see a human crossing working well though. Purely from players ethnically cleansing their villages and it blowing back on the devs.
