You are deluded if you think im gonna grab a gears spin off for that price

Chimera is a steal

>He isn't sitting on a fuckton of cash from work and the gubment because of Sharona
kek

Not him, but in my case it is that another (non-Squad Tactics) game i decided to get a LONG time ago is releasing on 24th for full price so it and XCOM hit the same price point as Gears, and that's how much im willing to spend a month on Vidya because i want a buffer for when food gets price gorged, and since GoW was never a IP that interested in the past im taking it slow and observing how it will pan out and maybe purchase when it goes on sale in 6+months, especially since between the two games im getting and being non-quarantined, thus have work hours. i probably won't have time for it anyway.

2 dollars is too much?

Gears Tactics has more stuff XCOM EU or 2 had before launch. Why do people always complain about dlcs post launch but then get butthurt when instead of releasing War of the Shekel expansion dev team releases a full game.
Fireaxis shilling makes Kojimafags look normal

Bought WotC back on Wednesday and finally replayed XCOM 2 for the first time since launch
It's weirdly balanced with the alien bosses and chosen making the first half difficult as shit, with the alien bosses being straight bullshit at times, and then the game's a fucking cakewalk after

>Two tactics games coming out within a week of each other
>Quarantine means I have all the time in the world to play

Feels great man

Gears Tactics is also on game pass PC right?

We won

yeah

SNAKE

>officer cobra, the chief wants to talk to you

>MFW Chimera Squad has no customizing your soldiers and fucking flat out game over's you if one of them dies
Jesus fucking Christ why?

Muh story

i love nuxcom but desu this spinoff looks wack as fuck. finna play gears instead

>Not having Game Pass
lmao

Because it's an 'experimental game' by the dev's own admission. They're trying out different things to see what sticks, and maybe the more successful things will get rolled into XCOM 3

you just have to restart the mission, tard, not the whole game.

Nigga my point is that XCOM's all about the war and losing soldiers, unless you savescum like a bitch, now you are railroaded into keeping them all alive for the sake of storytelling

it's only on game pass pc, it won't release for Xbox, at launch at least

>no customizing
Say sike

Chimera Squad seems more like a puzzle game than a hard XCOM experience, like Doorkickers.

pretty much yeah, doorkickers & invisible inc

yes its rare to get these type of games let alone two of them so close together. im ready to play some video games

I don't have a humiliation fetish so I don't want to pay to have lesbians tell me how great immigration is

Rent free.

Why are the humans just regular grunts? Why not at least have a Reaper sniper or a Templar with stun batons?

redpill me on gears tactics

It's a literal XCOM clone with a few minor changes

>3AP instead of 2
>Actions can be taken in any order, so you can move, shoot, and move again
>Characters are always put into a downed state on hitting 0HP
>Allies can be revived from this downed state with a HP penalty for the rest of the mission
>Executing a downed enemy gives 1AP to everybody except the person who executed
>Focus on swarming enemies instead of high HP single targets
>Overwatch is a variable cone that works like the XCOM 2 Sharpshooter Kill Zone ability

why yeah i enjoy turn based tactical RPG games, how could you tell?

It's a less shitty Pheonix Point but without base management, essentially

huh neat, guess for two dollars it's worth a try

they all sound like good additions tough

im really just disappointed theres no strategic layer like in XCOM, Battletech or heck even Mechanicus had a bit of management between missions

it's also mostly linear story missions, and there are a few plot essential characters that give you game over if they die in a mission.

Gears mostly looks and sounds good, but I dislike how little gameplay they've shown of it, besides a 20 minute ign video a few months ago

just play X-COM UFO Defence instead of chimera squad.

yeah that too, lack of permadeath defuses much of the tension

The ability to take actions in any order is going to make XCOM feel pretty clunky by comparison.
