Its a good tool if you're creative. I'm not, and I feel my time is wasted playing worse versions of things I've already played.

Personally I prefer 1 great game instead of million shit or okay games, but i can see the appeal for some people.

I bought a PS4 Pro for this to play the game day one, did the campaign, even made something that got over 1k likes, but as far as creating things goes the learning curve is very high, high enough to put off 95% of people at least
the few people that stay around might make something eventually but I've never played a single game that I haven't played a better version of elsewhere
all I see these days is stupid Wario memes and low quality crap, so it seems like low install base combined with high difficulty curve = low quality 'games'

Thanks for mentioning this. Steam doesn't make it obvious when they have free games available so I wouldn't have heard of this. Even if it's shitty, free is free.

There are multiple game engines out there that are more versatile while still being user friendly. Most of them also have mouse and keyboard support plus more assets and tutorials/guides to them.

Because the era of user generated content is fucking over. Nobody is making custom maps for wc3 and cs anymore, nobody wanted wc3 reforged and the dota 2 map tool, nobody wanted LBP3.

Because it's not a game. If you're autistic enough you make a level that takes 12 hours to make but is playable in 5 minutes. The whole thing is a fucking joke.

There are a lot of people with a lot of time, especially these days.

There is no reaso to buy this instead of just getting into a proper engine and programming language which are free, you own all rights to it and sony won't randomly (in 2-3 months) decide to close the servers with all your creations.

I want to create things in Dreams but the tools and controls fucking suck.

I don't want to have to create my own games. I already have a job.

It's a cool idea on paper but the lack of actual effort put into most dreams that falls under "LOL MEME" or "I SPENT AN HOUR ON IT" outweighs any good ones you might find. Like any "Create your own" community.

I know the game had shit marketing possibly because it's going to get shilled hard for the PS5 but I think one of the problems with Dreams is that there's too much shit for the average person to wrap their head around to make shit meanwhile most people who can get into it will make a few proof of concepts and fuck off to better tools where they can actually make games they can sell. With Little Big Planet, the scope was a lot smaller for the end users.

It's not a free GAME though, and I have to go out of my house to get it.

Even in terms of this kind of thing, people could just make something in Second Life and be able to make real money off it, because that game is still going somehow.

Forgot to say that at this point, games don't apply to this beta evaluation, so you can't make money with games for now. Probably will happen some time later down the line.
