The game is actually fun and I was surprised they manage to find a good balance for kingdom hearts style combat where your non played party doesn't just die off the bat in the harder fights.

My only complaint so far is when time jannies go REEE when you go slightly off plot

I'm a respected critic/streamer. I'll give some of my thoughts here before they go up in my video essay. FF7R is the peak of modern gaming. Even WITH destiny ghosts, it does everything else so insanely right that they only slightly damage the experience. After thinking about this game critically every waking moment since its release, I can't give it a blind pass, it deserves the utmost praise.

But Simmons likes the Xenoblade games. In fact he pretty much said it's better than FF7R.
