Why is there a massive circlejerk over Doom 64 all of a sudden?
It was nothing more than a way to play Doom on the Bing Bing Wahoo 64 machine and pretty much plays like a custom IWAD with some new graphics and sounds and yet everyone is praising it like a forgotten masterpiece and a true sequel to Doom 2.
Some eceleb retard said that Doom 64 is good and millenials and underage are licking that shit up. Same shit as with Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company circlejerking recently. Just kids hearing a "based" opinion from someone and repeating it.
Noah Hall
It's like doom with some hexen mixed in, pretty fun.

>It was nothing more than a way to play Doom
Nice one OP
Josiah Cook
Doom 64 is better than Doom 2
Jackson Butler
>Same shit as with Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company circlejerking recently You gotta to be kidding. No way somebody unironically praising these piece of shit
Wyatt Campbell
>It was nothing more than a way to play Doom on the Bing Bing Wahoo 64 machine play the game before you speak sage
Charles Cox
nightdive studios recently released a commercial port of it to the pc and consoles.

It's pretty good. I feel like most of the people praising it as being better than the originals only played/heard of it recently and are still in a honeymoon period because doing any more than one playthrough really exposes the sheer lack of variety in monsters and the awful weapon balance where only two of them matter at a time. Cartridge space limitations really didn't do it any favors
It was a nintendo exclusive. Nintendofags are a cult.
Xavier Cook
This is a good post. The game also has some really noticeable level design issues. There's lots of moments where you'll flip a switch that did something somewhere else and you need to wander around for 5 minutes before you find the one door that it opened.

That would be the case if it wasn't an entirely new game. A lot of people didn't even know that Doom64 wasn't simply a port of the original Doom. As to why people love it ? It's a creepier Doom game with good horror atmosphere that didn't sacrificed its gameplay for it like Doom3 did.
My experience with the secrets summed up. I am enjoying the horror-esque theme it went for, though; I can easily see how D3 came into concept afterwards.
Joshua Rodriguez
>no revenants >no arch-viles >better
Doom 64 is a downgrade in any aspect.
Eli Martin
Availability is important. These two are pretty cool weird games.
Austin Morales
there's like 3 arch viles in 2, woooow so amazing

Because it has some really solid level design and people are finally able to play it without subjecting themselves to the abomination that is the N64 controller.
Levi Diaz
updated brutal version coming soon, going to be sick
playing it and i like it. though i disagree that is better than doom/doom2/final_doom
Christopher Bennett
well most of them barely matter, it's a cool enemy design but they mostly only matter in wads
Thomas Butler
>the abomination that is the N64 controller zoom zoom
Jackson Walker
actual good music instead of playing Metallica through a 8-bit filter
Jayden Ortiz
Cringe

>projecting Only zoomers would defend it. They never played Mario Party 1.
Parker Lopez
Nah man, it was shit.
William Taylor
it's insane how one single console makes so much seething, even 20 years later
Luis Russell
Is that revenant flossing?
James Phillips
because it's good when games people like come off old exclusive hardware on to multi-platforms. Imagine being upset about this or even trying to question why people's enjoyment of a game that's not bad is even valid. There is no "why"
