sadly a boring game
kojima is done for
Oh look ESL-kun is back
Hey, mine's heavier!
Can't wait for the PC port so I get to help fellow porters again. Think there will be cross-play?
Why
Hope so, gonna get the PC port aswell. Cant get the game out of my mind, thinking about all the feels and still want to deliver packages. Desperately want a DLC with a new region to explore.

>Cant get the game out of my mind
Same. It's certainly one of those bigger-than-life masterpieces, that obviously will fly over the general population's head, but will sit nicely next to big cult-hit classics like MGS2 / SH2 / NieRs... etc. What a fantastic way to end the otherwise underwhelming decade.
>Desperately want a DLC with a new region to explore.
Yeah, it feels like that the whole West region was just magically cut. I've seen rumors of HK wanting to make the DS an even bigger and more darker game than it already is, but apparently Sony pulled some brakes on it in fears that it could cause controversy and scare away some customers.
The new photo mode is lots of fun.
I was so hyped for this game for like, two years prior the release. But my hype completely died when the game footage started to surface, specifically a video of Kojima playing the first 54 minutes in a japanese tv show. It looked... Horrifyingly bad to me. Not the looks per see, the looks abd visuals are all stunning... But the game itself.
When I watched the first 2 hours or so, my hype had mostly died and I haven't felt like experimenting with it ever since.
Shit looks boring. Not in an artsy Shadow pf the Colossus way. More in a "fill the void with gadgets and gimmicks" way. The combat sections look atrocious. And overall just damn too easy. I'll tell you about the moment I gave up on it. It was a very anticipated moment for me because it was in the trailers. We've just burned the president's body and BTs crawl all over the place and we have to flee.
I stood there and watched, baffled, when the player simply crouched and walked his way out of that tension, calmly and without interference... And then I saw that happening with every other BT encounter... And when he finally got caught, I saw that clunky mess of a boss fight (that you can just run away from).
My hopes for the game died that moment. It looked overly cinematic with disappointing gameplay and limited action challenge. I suppose the real challenge is resource management and crossing the world, which also feels like it's painfully boring.

This is either some master-bait, or you have essentially killed people's respect and interest towards anything you say.
The game is engaging, fun, varied and exciting as fuck, and 99% pure gameplay. Congraz for spoiling the first 1% for yourself and pulling some prejudiced assumptions.
missed out on a great game
Newbie that never played the game before, Can't wait for the PC port in June.
Hope many veterans will help out.
Does anybody know the system requirements for the PC port?
I'm hoping for a mod that disables structure deterioration, I just want to design my own network in peace
I can give you few tips from my experience
-the higher your bridge link is the more playermade structures you can see, the more you engage with the multiplayer the higher it gets
-take a good care of BB and your bond will get stronger, you will detect BTs easier
-hold your straps, dont just mash the button when the prompts show up, hold it. When you get the hang of it you can launch yourself forward by tripping on purpose
-explore the areas for preppers that are hidden away like in ravines our mountain peaks
-5 star every single prepper and facility to get technology, upgrades and lore from emails
-build roads, its completely optional but extremely helpful and surprisingly fun
-you can get caught by BTs on purpose to fight the big one and clear the area instead of sneaking, just build a postbox in the area and put your cargo in it to prevent damage
-dont fall for the fake credits, there is much more to the ending
-use the yell button during any BT fight to get support from other players, also during story segments you can have some really funny lines and taunts from Sam when you use it
-speed through the game until you get to chapter 4 and unlock most of the useful tech, then go back to the first area and 5 star everything, take it really slow from there and enjoy the game
I'll be there, don't worry!
seeing that it's a game designed to run 1080p / 30fps on the 7yo stock-PS4, I doubt they will be high at all. Having the PC's extra options will obviously help performance too.
>I want a mod that kills the game's purpose, message, and essential gameplay functionality
how about no?
>skating down to the veteran porter at 100mph
>what's that, porters?
>hey! mine's heavier
>zoom past them both and thread a tight gap between two rocks
>Build a road and just pray that other players will maintain it for you which isn't even guaranteed
Sounds like an annoying mechanic honestly
>The game is engaging, fun, varied and exciting as fuck, and 99% pure gameplay.

Post more photo mode.
Also the Japanese Game Awards are on now and Death Stranding is winning a fair bit.
Oh yeah and when your stars wont get up at preppers its because you need to get an email from them first and read it, get to your safehouse and they will send it to you.
I played the game for more than 100 hours, built every single piece of road myself and they NEVER went bellow 90%. Also stuff wont get destroyed by timefall when you dont play the game, so you can safely log off and come back a month later to the same structures.
It is not.
And I have yet to have a single road to just "rot away" for me. In fact, the community finished tons of stretches for me.
It wasn't before over 200+ hours into the game that some of the early, remote secondary structures of mine started giving warnings, and those were mostly NPC -built stock shit like ladders and ropes.
And again: it all harnesses the underlying message and themes of the game beautifully.
That's nice to hear.
whats the actually point of this game? to endlessly deliver stuff but only faster ? I am sorry but can you explain to me how can tht be fun for 100 hours?
Alright I guess it's not so bad, what worries me the most about this mechanic is that the game will become unplayable in the future because people will move on to other things
Alrighty, thanks for the tips, i'll keep them in mind when the game comes out.
That is set up. Structures do not degrade if the game is turned off, only when playing. So if people move on, all those structures built when they left stay fine.
Just play the game and see for yourself faggot!
God, i want a pair of chiral boots irl soooo bad.
>the game will become unplayable in the future because people will move on to other things
I literally had a discussion about this with my friends and wife once we had all beaten the game. We all agreed that it's a genius way to demonstrate the inevitable perish of everything, and how much the co-operation of the mankind really matters if we want to keep our shit operational.
It is a story-driven survival-adventure game, with tons of content and unique mechanics. That's all I am saying.
I got 200 hours put into it on PS4 already, and I bet I'm gonna do another 200h on PC when it arrives.
>This is either some master-bait, or you have essentially killed people's respect and interest towards anything you say
>The game is engaging, fun, varied and exciting as fuck, and 99% pure gameplay.
Oh the irony
What do you consider ironic about it excatly?
Yes, basically. You optimize the routes with structures and help of other players to traverse the terrain as fast as possible and deliver cargo in best condition. Longer distances, bigger loads, its about overcoming all of the obstacles and becoming a legend porter. Just walking alone feels thousand times more engaging than in any game because of how your character reacts to the terrain.
that you would sum a walking sim as "engaging, fun, varied and exciting as fuck, and 99% pure gameplay". Don't play dumb.
Is there really that many upgrades and shit to unlock that it will last 200 hours?
My only complaint for the game is you cant let your hair down without wearing sunglasses or a hat.
I dont think you realize how little stuff games need to be fun for hundreds of hours, but yes there is quite alot to unlock and keep you busy for that time. You get new stuff constantly to the very end. Do people really just hate this game because the primary objective isnt to fight things?
