Since all 10 mans nowadays seem to be filled with the most cancerous settings that make them not even feel like the actual game anymore I've decided to try playing solo and just obliterated for the 6th time in a row. What's up with that retarded youtuber who got posted in another thread putting Acrid as mid tier character for not being consistent enough? Literally the only time I came close to dying was when I got two scavengers as tp bosses after hitting a mountain shrine.

Crowbars, will-o-wisps, ATGs, stickies, alien head, brainstalks, shit like that. 2 hooves and a hopoo feather are mandatory. Also don't use the alt special, flamethrower is much better, and the instant vertical mobility gives you bad habits, in addition to cutting one of your main sources of DPS.

for pixel art, just draw a rough estimate of what you want, then do the joel-approved oatmeal technique of resizing the image until you have a pixelated mess, then work from there.

For pixel art, start with a silouette, use highly contrasting colors to differentiate features, and then work on aesthetic colors. It'll help you understand how the pixels work together later.
Every pixel matters, especially at lower res, so zoom in and out at 1 px changes sometimes because they can very easily drastically change how things look.

Yeah I start out doing the silouette first, but i'm not very good at the whole colors and feature defining stuff.
I think i've seen a few videos of pixel artists first making a normal drawing to use as reference for the pixel art, but i'm still practicing drawing in general

Don't focus too much on any one item, she's better when you balance things out. On-hit/kill, aoe, and movement items. One Quail is the most significant first green in your early game, and then a feather to enable frequent hovering, since you will have enough damage early game to not have to worry about that yet.
Don't use Ion Surge ever, it's a bad habit enabler and huge loss of damage.

For some reason hopoo made her movement skill replace her flamethrower like a fucking idiot, and without the movement skill she'll die before everybody else.

Color theory in pixel art can be difficult but at a basic level, consider that adding more red into a color will give it more contrast, conversely removing red for another nearby color has a similar effect.
Paint 4x4 or larger boxes of your desired colors next to each other, zoom out and see if your eye can distinguish and if they work together well enough, and then go back to using it in your actual pixel art if so. Else tweak them some more, don't test colors through the pixel art itself.
This is just a very basic level but it should hopefully get you going.

assuming you're the turbo edition mod user, you can always try outsourcing some of the art to the thread.
i'm sure some draw anons or edit anons (me) would like to try giving it a go

I'll never learn art if I just make other people do it. The main reason i'm making the mod is so I can improve on all my game making skills (design, coding, art, testing, listening to feedback etc) without first needing to build an entire game from scratch.
I'm hoping to also update the mod in the future when I get better so I can compare how far I've gotten since I started.

She can be fun, even though she's considerably the worst character in the game.

can some cool guy help a fucking reatrd out? trying to get Commandos alt special and am failing nonstop, best I've done is stage 8 on Rainstorm
What do stack on him to make him good? I've been getting as many Syringes, daggers, stickies, ATGs as possible and at least one of each Runic Band, a Uke and a wisp bottle.
Is the trick to just rush as fast as possible? I've been doing okay until tele decides to spawn a hoard of heavy enemies or a gaggle of Dunestrides
side note, does it seem to anyone else that Artifact 1.0 has made the spawner far more agressive?

Gasoline, right. But that's in Risk of Rain 1.3.0 (latest). Starstorm fixes that bug.

Between Artificer and Huntress, which character sucks more? I still think that Huntress needs more items than Arti to be viable in lategame, but Huntress's early game outplays even Commando and Rex. Triple blink and ballista are some of the better sidegrades I can think to any character.
